'See How They Run'

Betty Cummings as actress Penelope Toop is upset with her husband, the Rev. Lionel Toop, the vicar in the vicarage, played by Ryan Haider in the Mouse River Players’ presentation of Philip King’s classic comic farce, “See How They Run.”
Closing out the group’s 2007-08 season, the Mouse River Players present “See How They Run,” a classic British farce by Philip King, full of mistaken identities, lots of doors and lots of running. The one-room set was designed by director Paula Lindekugel-Willis as a delightful representation of a 1940s vicarage, full of wonderful touches and antiques.
“I’ve been lucky at garage sales this year,” she said, smiling. “It’s one of the advantages of having so much storage space here (in the Arlene Saugstad Theater). We have 6,000 square feet and it really makes a difference.”
“See How They Run” plays out in the home of Penelope Toop, portrayed by Betty Cummings. Penelope is an Englishwoman who used to play on the American stage. She is now returned and married to the Rev. Lionel Toop, played by Ryan Haider.
