Inaugural Bruce Hall Memorial Run: Sunday in New Town. Races will be held during the New Town Little Shell Powwow, four miles west of New Town. Registration will be at 9 a.m. at the A-frame building. Divisions are: kindergarten through second grade 400 meter run; third and fourth grade 800 meter run; fifth and sixth grade one-mile run; seventh, eighth and ninth grade two-mile run; and the 10K run, an open division. Trophies will be given to the top three finishers in each division. The open division winner will receive a cash award. All runners will receive T-shirts. Prairie Arts Club of Bottineau's annual Arts and Fine Crafts Show and Sale: Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Metigoshe Christian Center, north of Bottineau. The featured artist is Ellena Anderson, Palermo, who specializes in beadwork. Call Joyce Helgeson at 228-2805 for more information.
Upper Missouri Ministries Annual Sweet Corn Festival: 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Epping Bible Camp. A worship service will be at 10:30 a.m., led by the camp staff with Bishop Mark Narum. Roast beef on a bun and sweet corn will be served at 11:30 a.m. A freewill donation will be accepted. Rock the Leaves 2009 benefit concert: Sunday, 3 to 10 p.m., in Harmon Park in Williston. Proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Dakota to fund the wish of a local teenager who has leukemia. Dan Hansen, Minot, founder of Red Beard Booking and Promotion, is planning the concert, in conjunction with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. There will be music by several bands, including some area bands, a raffle for several prize packages, children's games and free food. The concert is free but a freewill donation will be accepted. Pangea House event: 6 to 10 p.m., The Missoula Oblongata Traveling Playwrights will present "The Fifty Greatest Ladies and Gentlemen": Pangea House, 109 W. Central Ave., downtown Minot. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the play will start at 6:30 p.m. The group is an experimental theater company dedicated to creating and touring originial work. A $4 donation per person is suggested. Main Street Books story time: Sundays in August, 1 p.m., at the store, downtown Minot. Each Sunday a different theme will be explored, focusing on insects during August.
