A Minot area ministry, the Northwest Chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship, will host a four-person golf scramble, the Micah Erickson Memorial Golf Classic: 9 a.m., The Links of North Dakota, south of Ray. Call Kevin at 833-9919 for more information.

Free weekly Saturday soup kitchen (breakfast): 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Congregational United Church of Christ basement, east door.

Ward County Historical Society's General Board and Membership Meeting: 10 a.m., historical society's Samuelson House, State Fairgrounds.

Boy Scout Troop 425 of Minot will have its 13th Annual Car Wash, and a Yard Sale: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Congregational United Church of Christ parking lot, 430 N. Broadway. Freewill donations will be accepted for the troop's general fund. Proceeds from the yard sale will help troop members attend a Canoe High Adventure Trip to Ely, Minn., in 2010. 

Ward County Public Library summer reading program event, Martial Arts Demonstration by Moore's Karate of Minot: 10 to 11 a.m., Makoti Park. Call 852-5388 or e-mail the county library at library@www.co.ward.nd.us to preregister.

The Reunion at the Home of Sakakawea New Town Summer Celebration: In New Town. The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Earth Lodge Village will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Arts in the Park will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a Kids Corner from 10 a.m. to noon. Lenny the Clown will be there and there will be a pie and ice cream social starting at 11 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, New Town. A parade will be at 1 p.m., with a car and motorcycle show from 2 to 5 p.m. A pig roast supper will be at 5 p.m., auction of flower pots at 6:30 p.m. and dance with music by Dakota Rose Dance Band from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the New Town Civic Center. People should bring their own lawn chair to the events, which are sponsored by the New Town Chamber of Commerce.

International Music Camp events: Guitar Recital at 11 a.m. in the camp's Burdick Center for the Performing Arts; handbell exhibition at 11 a.m. in the Alme Center;   piano and organ recital at 1 p.m., choir concert at 1:30 p.m., dance recital at 2 p.m., and show choir concert at 3 p.m., all in the Burdick Center, at the camp near Dunseith.

Kief Schladweiler from the Foundation Center grant program in New York City will offer a free program for the public: 1 to 3 p.m., Minot Public Library's North Community Room. He will cover the Foundation Center Online, a source for grants for non-profit organizations, and the resources on the Foundation Center's Web site. The Missoula Children's Theatre will present "Cinderella" featuring Bottineau area children: 2 and 7 p.m., Bottineau High School's Holwell Auditorium. The production is sponsored by the Bottineau Community Theatre.

Max Senior Citizens Tea Party and Quilt Show: 2 to 4 p.m., Max Senior Citizens Center Admission is $5 per person. Many door prizes will be awarded.

Minot American Legion Post 26 social nights: Starting at 4 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 1949 N. Broadway. 

2nd Story Social Club's movies and treats night: 7 p.m., 13-1st Ave. SW.

The Minot State University Summer Theatre will present "The Odd Couple": Saturday through Monday, 8:30 p.m., MSU Amphitheater. Tickets are $8 for adults; $7 for senior citizens and children over age 12; $5 for children ages 12 and under; and $3 for MSU personnel and summer students with a current MSU identification card. Call 858-3228 for reservations.
