- Crop Opportunities ‘09 crop management seminar: 1 to 3:30 p.m., Kenmare High School. Speakers will include Frayne Olson, NDSU crop marketing specialist, and Dwight Aakre, NDSU farm management specialist. Topics will include the new farm bill, the ACRE program and cover crop concepts.
- Jim Hill Middle School Chapel program featuring Judy Siegle of Fargo who was paralyzed at age 18 by a drunk driver: 1:58 p.m., school gymnasium, 1000-6th St. SW.
- Minot Christian Women’s Dinner Party: 6:30 to 8 p.m., Grand International Inn. The luncheon cost is $9 per person. The event is open to men, women and teenagers. Judy Siegle, Fargo, who was paralyzed at age 18 by a drunk driver, will speak. She is a wheelchair racer, author and motivational speaker, Music will be provided by Tanner Vix, soloist, Dale Kephart, saxophone player, and Debbie Olsen, pianist. - The Ward County Extension Service will hold a meeting on wind energy lease issues: 6:30 p.m., Kenmare High School. Dwight Aakre, NDSU Extension farm management specialist, will discuss what a landowner needs to consider before leasing the wind rights and entering into a contract for construction of wind turbines on their property, and contract terms such as duration, renewal and acreage amounts and financial arrangements that are typical to the industry. The meeting is open to anyone interested in wind energy.
- Elks Band Concert in Cando: 7:30 p.m., Audi Theater. There will be a freewill offering.
- 2nd Story Social Club’s general meeting: 8 p.m., 13-1st Ave. SW.
