St. Leo's Catholic Church will offer a Christmas Bible School, "Christmas A Christian Tradition": 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at St. Leo's Community Center, 105-1st St. SE. Children ages 3 through sixth grade should be preregistered. The school is open to children of all faiths. Lunch will be provided and a freewill offering will be accepted.
Free weekly Saturday soup kitchen (breakfast): 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Congregational United Church of Christ basement, east door.
Mohall United Methodist Church's Seventh Annual Christmas Cookie Walk: 9:30 a.m. to noon, at the church, 204-1st Ave. NW. Cookies will be sold by the pound. Containers will be provided or people may bring their own containers.
Vennlig Sons of Norway Lodge 4-618 of Tioga is sponsoring the 16th Annual Heritage Festival: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tioga Farm Festival Building. There will be a bake sale at 10 a.m., a lunch counter, door prizes, demonstrations, dancing and entertainment.
Christian Motorcyclists Association: 11 a.m., Marcos Restaurant, Town and Country Center. The group meets the first Saturday of each month at that time and place.
Taube Museum of Art's Annual Holiday Tour of Homes and Cookie Walk Fundraiser: noon to 4 p.m., beginning at the Taube, 2 N. Main St. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door and are available at the Taube, Artmain, Interiors Plus, Artistry Hairstylists and Herbergers. The event is a fundraiser to benefit the museum. Saron Lutheran Ladies Christmas Party: 12:30 p.m., in the church south of Minot. The Prairie Gospel Quartet will perform and there will be a potluck lunch, a quilt display, a freewill offering and door prizes.
Mouse River Loop Genealogical Society: 1 p.m., Minot Public Library. The group meets the first Saturday of the month. New members and visitors are welcome.
The Fort Union Muzzle Loaders, representing engages, will occupy Fort Union Trading Post to reenact the role of American Fur Co. employees: Saturday and Sunday, Fort Union, near Williston. Engages performed the basic manual labor of the trading post. Refreshments will be served. Fort Union is 25 miles southwest of Williston. Call 572-9083 for more information.
Parents may go holiday shopping while their children attend a party: 1 to 4 p.m. The drop-off babysitting service for children ages 1 through 10 will be at the Girl Scout Service Center, 525-31st Ave. SW. The cost is $8 per child. There will be adult volunteers and girl scouts who are Safe-Sitter certified, and there will be activities. Children should wear tennis shoes. Souris Valley Animal Shelter lighting ceremony to remember loved ones and pets: 2 p.m., 1935-20th Ave. SE. People who donated $5 to have a bell or star in the shelter lobby will hear the names represented by each bell and star read. Refreshments will be served. Call 852-6133 for more information.

The 38th Annual Celebration of Christmas Music by the Northwest Chorus and Orchestra Association Inc. of Crosby and Southeast Chorus Association Inc. of Estevan, Sask., an international chorus: Saturday, 7 p.m., St. Paul's United Church, Estevan, and Sunday, 4 p.m., Crosby Concordia Lutheran Church, with the Crosby concert followed by a no-host supper at Mr. K's in Crosby."Go Tell It on the Mountain" is this year's theme. About 50 singers from both sides of the border are participating. Tickets are $15 for a family, $5 for adults, and $3 for students in grades one through eight. Preschoolers will be admitted for free.
Singing Christmas Tree 2008 program, "Love's Touch: An Epic Reach": Saturday and Dec. 10, 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m., Sunday and Dec. 14 at 4:30 p.m., Assembly of God Church, 1805-2nd St. SE. The University of Mary will present "Christmas at Mary," its annual musical celebration of Christmas: Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30 p.m., Our Lady of the Annunciation Chapel in the Benedictine Center, Bismarck. The 50th anniversary program will feature the university's concert choir, vocal jazz group, Gabrieli Brass Ensemble, concert band and student solos and ensembles. Performances are free and open to the public.
