Free weekly Saturday soup kitchen (breakfast): 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Congregational United Church of Christ basement, east door.
The Minot YWCA will have "A Day of Giving": 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the YWCA, 205-3rd Ave. SE, next to Bethany Lutheran Church. The YWCA will give out men's, women's and children's clothing of all sizes and other miscellaneous items. Anyone who needs these items may attend.
Vennlig Sons of Norway Lodge of Tioga will have its Annual Heritage Festival: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tioga Farm Festival Building. Activities will include a bake sale at 10 a.m., a lunch counter with ethnic foods, cultural and ethnic demonstrations, a Scandinavian style show, music and door prizes.
Christian Motorcyclists Association: 11 a.m., Marcos Restaurant, Town and Country Center. The group meets the first Saturday of each month at that time and place.
The Dakota Finnish Society will host its 9th annual Pikkujoulu (Little Christmas) celebration: noon, lower level, Scandinavian Heritage Center, 1020 S. Broadway. Hot foods and beverages will be provided. There is a voluntary potluck of salads, desserts and breads. Entertainment will include accordion music by Roy Sayler, Underwood, and Muriel Brandt, Minot. There will also be jam sessions and a silent auction of Finnish items with proceeds from the auction donated to the Minot YWCA. All society members and friends may attend. Taube Museum of Art's Holiday Tour of Homes Open House and Cookie Walk: noon to 4 p.m. Homes to be toured include the homes of Yvonne Schreiner, 911 Village Ave. SE; Jim Bohn, 615-34th Ave. SW, Unit H; Steve and Nancy Joyal, 1609 Parkside Drive; and Calvin and Lee Clouse, 1725-11th St. SW. Advance tickets for the tour of homes are $10 for Taube members and $12 for non-members. Advance tickets may be purchased at the Taube, Artmain, Interiors Plus, Artistry Hairstylists or Herberger's. Tour of Homes sponsors are Interiors Plus, Herberger's, Lowe's Garden Center, Miracle Mart, I Keating Furniture World and the Grand International Inn, all Minot. Tickets at the door will be $15. Mouse River Loop Genealogical Society: 1 p.m., Minot Public Library. The group meets the first Saturday of the month. New members and visitors are welcome.
Annual Dickens Village Festival: Dec. 5, 11 and 12 in Garrison. "A Christmas Carol," a play adaption by Jude Iverson of Charles Dickens' novella, will be Dec. 5 and Dec. 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Kota Theater in Garrison. Tickets for "A Christmas Carol" are $14. There will also be entertainment all of the above dates at the Kota Theater at 2 p.m. The Dec. 5 performance at 2 p.m. will feature the Centennial Singers from Harvey, a 30-voice men's choir. Tickets for that afternoon performance are $5. sold at the door. Other events include an English Market, carriage rides, tours, doubledecker bus rides, English High Tea, a Holiday Sing-Along, street food vendors and a lighted parade. Fort Union Trading Post activities in Williston: Saturday and Sunday at the fort 25 miles southwest of Williston. The Fort Union Muzzle Loaders will occupy Fort Union Trading Post to reenact the role of American Fur Co. employees during the winters. Call 572-9083 for more information.

First Assembly of God's Singing Christmas Tree, "The Journey to the Manger": Performance dates are Saturday and Dec. 13 at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday and Dec. 9, 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the church. Tickets may be picked up at the church office weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 1805-2nd St. SE or may be ordered by calling 838-1111.
The Minot Chamber Chorale will present its 37th Annual Renaissance Christmas Feast: Saturday, social at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., Holiday Inn-Riverside Coliseum, Minot. Reservations are needed. Adult dinners are $35, with a choice of prime rib, chicken cordon bleu or vegetarian plate. A child's portion of chicken strips will be $20. Call 838-8709 or 839-4622 for reservations. Opening reception for "Picture Perfect Words," the senior exhibit by Minot State University students Tami Goss and Stacy Jaeger: 7 to 9 p.m., 62 Doors Gallery and Studio, 11B S. Main St. The exhibit features works in photography and graphic design. The exhibit will be on display there through Jan. 9.
The 39th Annual Celebration of Christmas Music, "Joy to the World," presented by an international chorus from Canada and North Dakota: Saturday, 7 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, Estevan, Sask., and Sunday, 4 p.m., Concordia Lutheran Church, Crosby. The concerts will be presented by the Northwest Chorus, Crosby, and the Southeast Chorus, Estevan, Saskatchewan, directed by Ed Retzer. Tickets are $15 for a family; $5 for adults; $3 for students in grades one through eight; and free for preschoolers.
Entertainment Inc! of Williston will present "A Christmas Story": Saturday through Monday, Old Armory Theater, Williston. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. except for Sunday's performance which starts at 2:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $13 for adults and $8 for students. Reservations are recommended.
