The North Dakota Texas Hold'em Poker Championship Tournament, sponsored by the Minot State University Alumni Association: Dec. 31 through Jan. 3, The Vegas Motel, Minot. The charity poker tournament raises money for MSU's scholarship fund and is expected to draw about 1,300 players from across the country and Canada. Call 839-3000 for more information.

Faith United Methodist Church's food and clothing pantry is open Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is located at 801 W. University Ave.

Minot Youth for Christ and area charges are sponsoring "The Living End" New Year's Party for area middle school and high school students, grades six through 12: Registration at 6:45 p.m., party from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., Our Redeemer's Christian School gym, Minot. Activities will include volleyball, basketball and team gym games, an inflatable obstacle course, jousting, snacks, a performance by the Stay Out Late band, videos and wacky skits. The cost is $7 per person. Space is limited so people should preregister if possible by calling the Youth for Christ office at 839-4660.
