The Salvation Army of Minot, 315 Western Ave., is taking applications for toys/gifts for children and Christmas food baskets Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. Identification of each member of the household, address verification and proof of all income is required for the application process. Minot State University's Brown Bag Book Talk: noon to 12:45 p.m., Gordon B. Olson Library's lower level at MSU. Prit Kaur from the MSU Criminal Justice Department will talk about the book "Hindu Social Organization: A Study in Social-Psychological and Ideological Foundations" by P.N. Prabhu. People are encouraged to bring their lunch and do not need to read the book ahead of time.
The N.D. Emergency Medical Services Association will hold Stakeholder Summits: Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Chieftain Motel in Carrington and Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. at the Days Inn in Bismarck. MSU's KMSU Auction: Will air on Channel 19 with a pre-show at 5 p.m. and auction at 6:30 p.m. The auction will also be live in the MSU Beaver Dam. Auction items were donated by Minot businesses and contributors. Cartiva donated a car and is a sponsor of the auction. The auction brought in $15,000 last year for the university's broadcasting program. This year's goal is to raise money for Media Ink, departmental equipment, and MSU broadcasting scholarships. Ten percent of the earnings are donated to a charitable cause. This year that 10 percent will be donated to Lynne Rumney, the MSU Honors Program director, who is undergoing cancer treatment.
The Minot Chamber Chorale will present its 37th Annual Renaissance Christmas Feast: Thursday through Saturday, social at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., Holiday Inn-Riverside Coliseum, Minot. Reservations are needed. Adult dinners are $35, with a choice of prime rib, chicken cordon bleu or vegetarian plate. A child's portion of chicken strips will be $20. Entertainment Inc! of Williston will present "A Christmas Story": Thursday through Monday, Old Armory Theater, Williston. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. except for Sunday's performance which starts at 2:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $13 for adults and $8 for students. Reservations are recommended. The North Dakota Emergency Medical Services Association will hold stakeholder summits in Carrington today at 1 p.m. in the Chieftain Motel and in Bismarck Dec. 12 at 9 a.m in the Days Inn. Association members, EMTs and those associated with emergency medical response should plan to attend.
