Soup kitchen: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Faith United Methodist Church, 801 W. University Ave. The church's food and clothing pantry is open Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m.
The Willow City Community Club will host a "Zap the Gap" meeting with the North Dakota Public Service Commission: noon, Willow City Community Hall. Lunch will be served at 11:30 am. PSC Commissioners Kevin Cramer, Tony Clark and Brian Kalk will chair the meeting which will focus on cell phone coverage in the Willow City area. The meeting is open to the public. United Blood Services of Minot and Williston Blood Drive: Monday, 1 to 7 p.m., and Tuesday, noon to 6 p.m., Williston National Guard Armory. Call Al or Bertha Axtman 572-3495 or the armory at 774-0087 in the afternoon for an appointment.
Minot Adult Learning Center's registration for GED, career planning and academic review courses: 1 to 4 p.m., at the center. Registration is for students interested in earning their GED, increasing their academic skill level in order to enter post secondary education or who want help with career planning. GED tests are administered every Tuesday at 1 p.m. and many Tuesday evenings. Call 857-4488 to register.
The Minot Public Library will host a Christmas Open House: 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The open house will include refreshments and live holiday music played by local high school students.
Gymagic Gymastics' registration for Term Three: This Monday through Friday, 4 to 7 p.m., at the Gymagic building , State Fairgrounds, Minot. The term will start Jan. 4 and will continue through Feb. 27. Classes are for boys and girls ages 18 months and older. Call 852-4585 for more information.
Trinity Mental Health Services in Minot will host a talk on the theme, "Tis the Season for Stress": 4 p.m., Trinity Health Center-Riverside's Education Center, 1900-8th Ave. SE. The talk is free and open to the public. Call 857-5998 for more information.
North Dakota Safety Council's Defensive Driving Course: 6 to 10 p.m., Minot State University's Model Hall, Room 207. Those who complete the course are eligible for an insurance discount and three-point reduction on their driving record. Pre-payment and preregistration are required. YOUTH EVENTS
Child Evangelism Fellowship will hold Good News Club for children in grades kindergarten through sixth: 3:10 to 4:20 p.m., Bel Air Elementary Gym. Activities will include a Bible lesson, memory verse, songs and games. Parents are welcome to attend. Call Ben Vinje at 340-4999 for more information.
