SENIOR ACTIVITIES
MINOT COMMISSION ON AGING
For the week of Nov. 10-14:
Monday: Footcare, 9 a.m., Parker Center.
Tuesday: Minot Commission on Aging office closed for Veterans Day.
Wednesday: Bible study, 10 a.m., Parker Center.
Thursday: Line dancing, 10 a.m., Parker Center.
SENIOR CITIZENS LEAGUE
Monday: Bingo at 12:15 p.m.
Tuesday: Parker Center closed for Veterans Day.
Wednesday: Educational speakers, Minot State University nursing students, who will speak about "Alzheimer's Awareness," 1:30 p.m. Following the program, there will be a candle-lighting ceremony in remembrance of loved ones affected by Alzheimer's disease. There will be a light lunch and a door prize.
Thursday: Whist, 1 p.m.
Friday: Bingo at 12:15 p.m.
Upcoming events: The commission is sponsoring an informational program for anyone who needs assistance with Medicare-Part D. The sessions will be Nov. 17 and Nov. 18 from 1:30 to 5 p.m. but people need to make appointments ahead of time by calling the Minot Commission on Aging at 852-0561. There is no charge to attend either session.
The Odds and Ends Corner is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Parker Center. There are "gently used" items and new items, and new merchandise arrives weekly. All proceeds from these sales benefit the Senior Citizens League.
