Minot Adult Learning Center's registration for GED, career planning and academic review courses: 9 a.m. to noon, at the center. Registration is for students interested in earning their GED, increasing their  academic skill level in order to enter post secondary education or who want help with career planning. GED tests are administered every Tuesday at 1 p.m. and many Tuesday evenings. December registration will be Dec. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. Call 857-4488 to register.
The Salvation Army of Minot, 315 Western Ave., is now taking applications for toys/gifts for children and Christmas food baskets. Applications are being accepted through Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Identification of each member of the household, address verification and proof of all income is required for the application process. Call 838-8925 for more information.
Trinity Mental Health Services in Minot will host talks on the theme, "Tis the Season for Stress": Mondays through Dec. 14, 4 p.m., Trinity Health Center-Riverside's Education Center, 1900-8th Ave. SE. The talks are free and open to the public. All of the presenters are licensed counselors at Trinity Mental Health Services. Call 857-5998 for more information.
Guy's Night at the Library: Dads and kids are invited to a martial arts demonstration: 7 p.m., Minot Public Library. ATA Martial Arts personnel will do demonstrations and answer questions. Call 838-0606 for more information.
Minot State University Northwest Art Center Lecture: 7 p.m., MSU's Aleshire Theater, Hartnett Hall. Jim Norris from the North Dakota State University History Department, Fargo, will speak about "Mexican Migrant Workers in North Dakota." An informal reception will follow. Parking in campus lots is unrestricted after 4 p.m.

City of Minot Employees Pension Board: 2 p.m., City Hall, council chambers.
Minot City Council's Finance and Improvements Committee meeting, followed by Airport Committee meeting: 4:15 p.m., City Hall, council chambers.
YOUTH EVENTS
Totally Preschool Story Time for independent children ages 3-6: 10:30 a.m., Minot Public Library's Imagination Station. Call 838-0606 for more information.
Child Evangelism Fellowship will hold Good News Club for children in grades kindergarten through sixth from 3:10 to 4:20 p.m. at the following schools: Bel Air Elementary Gym, Mondays through Dec. 14 and Edison Elementary Fallout Shelter, Tuesdays through Dec. 8. Activities include a Bible lesson, memory verse, songs and games. Parents are welcome to attend. Call Ben Vinje at 340-4999 for more information.
After School Kids program for children in grades kindergarten through fifth: Mondays at 3:45 p.m., in the library's Imagination Station. This activity-based program continues through Dec. 21. Call the library at 838-0606 for more information.
OTHER EVENTS
The Kennedy Memorial Foundation in Bismarck will host a program on "The Life of Wolf Chief": 7 p.m., at the Kennedy Center,1902 East Divide Ave., Bismarck. James Moos, senior pastor of the United Church of Christ in Bismarck, will give the talk. Wolf Chief was a Hidatsa tribal leader. Wolf Chief established a store at Independence and engaged in commerce between the tribe and the city of Chicago. The event is free and open to the public.
