Soup kitchen: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Faith United Methodist Church, 801 W. University Ave. The church's food and clothing pantry is open Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m.
Public hockey: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Maysa Arena.
Public ice skating: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Maysa Arena.
Main Street Books presents "North Dakota Reads": 7 p.m., at the store, 106 S. Main St. The "North Dakota Reads" series will be presented at the store the first Monday of the month. Rick Watson will host the Nov. 3 session and will discuss contemporary poets including Thomas McGrath and several local authors including Darlene Marquart. The event is free and open to the public.
