Informational programs about the upcoming Medicare Part D open enrollment period Nov. 15 through Dec. 31: Meetings will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Williston Senior Center, Tuesday at Sleep Inn ­ Inn and Suites in Minot and Dec. 17 at Lake Region College's Heritage Room, Devils Lake. Meetings are for Medicare beneficiaries to get assistance comparing and possibly changing to a Medicare Part D plan best suited for them. The meetings are sponsored by the Medicare Rx Access Network of North Dakota, area agencies on aging, and the State Health Insurance Counseling Program. People may also call the State Health Insurance Counseling Program for personalized assistance at 1-888-575-6611 or visit the Web site at (www.nd.gov) for more information.

People planning to attend the Salvation Army's Thanksgiving Dinner Nov. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Parker Senior Center need to make reservations by calling 838-8925.

Soup kitchen: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Faith United Methodist Church, 801 W. University Ave. The church's food and clothing pantry is open Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m.

Public ice skating: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Maysa Arena.

The Bishop Ryan High School Drama Department will present its annual fall production, "The Crazy Quilt Club" by Pat Cook: 7:30 p.m., school gymnasium. "The Crazy Quilt Club" is a home for old knitters who don't exactly get along. This all changes when Veronica Blather, a murder mystery author, moves in and some of the residents are murdered. The ladies of the Crazy Quilt Club must stop fighting and solve the case before they are next. No reservations are needed. Tickets are $5 for adults and free for Minot Catholic Schools students.

Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble: 7:30 p.m., Minot State University's Ann Nicole Nelson Hall.

2nd Story Social Club's trivia and cider night: 8 p.m., 13-1st Ave. SW.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Minot Public Works and Safety Committee meeting, followed by Liquor and Gambling Committee meeting: 4:15 p.m., Minot City Hall.

Minot Planning Commission meeting: 7 p.m., City Hall, council chambers.

YOUTH EVENTS

Totally Preschool Story Time for independent children ages 3-6: Mondays at 10:30 a.m. now through Dec. 8, Minot Public Library's Imagination Station. Call 838-0606 for more information.
