Benefit breakfast for Shawn Duke's family: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Berthold School Cafeteria. Pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage will be served. There will be a freewill offering. Shawn is head custodian for the Berthold Schools. Shawn and Amanda's infant daughter, Hailey, was born with a heart defect and will need several corrective surgeries and a lengthy stay in Minneapolis. The staff at the school is hosting this event in order to help defray the expenses for the family. Supplemental Funds are being applied for through Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. People may also send donations to the Duke family in care of Berthold School, P.O. Box 185 Berthold, ND 58718. Call the Berthold School at 453-3484 for more information.

Benefit Luncheon for Jennifer Keaton of Minot: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 2209-4th Ave. NW. A turkey and stuffing casserole, salad and dessert will be served. There will be a freewill offering. She fell last winter and broke her leg in several places, requiring extensive surgery and rehabilitation.

Soup kitchen: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Seventh-day Adventist Church, 10-17th Ave. SW.

The Minot Area Theatrical Society will present benefit one-acts, "Warm Welcome," "The Good Loser," "The Way of All Fish" and "Thomas, Richard and Harold": 2 p.m., The Vegas Motel, Minot. This is a benefit for the Minot Area Council of the Arts and a freewill donation will be taken. No reservations will be taken for this event. Call 852-2290 for more information.

A.A. Closed Big Book Study and nonsmoking meeting: 2 p.m., 515-5th Ave. NW.

Overeaters Anonymous: 5:30 p.m., First Presbyterian Church's library, 1000-3rd St. NE. The first Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. is a special "newcomers meeting" for anyone who wants to learn more about OA. Call 839-7833 for more information.

Narcotics Anonymous: 8 p.m., Church of Christ, 1315-1st St. NE, basement.

YOUTH EVENTS

Main Street Books in downtown Minot will offer story time Sundays in November and December: 1 p.m., 106 S. Main St. Story times will feature holiday themed books and activities geared for children ages 4-7. All activities are free and a snack will be served.

OTHER EVENTS

University of Mary alumni, students, faculty and staff will bring William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" to the Stage for a 50th Anniversary Tribute: 2 p.m., Arno Gustin Hall, on the campus in Bismarck. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for high school students and seniors. All seats are general admission. Tickets are available at the door.

University of Mary woodwind and brass students will present a Chamber Music Concert: 3 p.m., Heskett Hall, on the Bismarck campus, The concert is free and open to the public, Area students performing will be Shawna Metzger and Chelsey Grad, both Williston; Craig Goettle, Donnybrook; and Elizabeth Mack, Rugby.

The Kennedy Memorial Foundation in Bismarck will host a reflection of John F. Kennedy and the Berlin Wall: 3:30 p.m., Kennedy Center, 1902 East Divide Ave., Bismarck.
