Minot Area Homeless Coalition's Fourth Annual Banquet and Fundraiser: Social hour at 6 p.m., silent auction from 6 to 8 p.m., buffet dinner at 7 p.m., Grand International Inn, 1505 N. Broadway. Minot State University Northwest Art Center Lecture: 7 p.m., MSU's Aleshire Theater, Hartnett Hall. Gregory Gagnon, associate professor of American Indian Studies at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, will be the speaker for Native American Awareness Week. He will talk about "Why Are There (Indian) Reservations?" His lecture is supported by the North Dakota Council on the Arts.
The Minot Curling Club will have an open house and instructional sessions: 7 p.m., at the club, State Fairgrounds, Minot. All equipment will be provided to interested people who would like to try curling. The league season will be from Nov. 30 to the end of March. Leagues are evenings Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The club also hosts some weekend events. All new and old curlers may attend the open house and sign up for leagues and to arrange their teams. There will be a club social and dinner Saturday at 6 p.m. at the curling club. Call 838-3452 for more information.

University of Mary's Institute for Excellence in Health Care: 9:45 a.m., Chick's Place, Bismarck. Author Matthew Sanford will speak about "A Mind-Body Approach to Healing and Recovery" at 11 a.m. in McDowell Activity Center. He mastered yoga despite being paralyzed from a car accident that killed his father and older sister. The day will conclude with two panel discussions in Heskett Hall featuring experts in the medical field at 1 p.m. "Technology in Rehabilitation: The ActiveArm/ActiveLeg will befollowed by "Alternative Rehabilitation Therapies" at 2 p.m.
University of Mary alumni, students, faculty and staff will bring William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" to the Stage for a 50th Anniversary Tribute: Performances are Thursday through Saturday, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m., Arno Gustin Hall on the campus in Bismarck. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for high school students and seniors. All seats are general admission. Tickets are available at the door or may be reserved by calling 355-8146 during business hours.
