First District Health Unit will hold an H1N1 vaccination clinic: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Minot Municipal Auditorium. This will be a chance for children age 9 and younger who were vaccinated Oct. 21 or before to receive the second dose, or booster. All children ages 9 and younger need a second dose to be fully protected. Parents whose children are receiving a second dose should bring the vaccination card they received when their children were vaccinated for H1N1. If they do not have the card, they must know the date of the first vaccination. First District Health Unit is not able to look up H1N1 vaccination dates. Others who can attend the free walk-in clinic are people ages 6 months old through age 24, pregnant women and parents, siblings and caregivers of infants younger than 6 months old.

Fundraiser for the homeless and hungry: Minot State University's Student Social Work Organization will participate in the "Freezin' For a Reason" Fundraiser from noon to 9 p.m. in the Town and Country Shopping Center parking lot. People are asked to drop off nonperishable food items and/or monetary donations. The event is part of a nationwide effort to bring a greater awareness to the problems of hunger and homelessness.
Golden Oaks PTA meeting: 2 p.m., at The Annex, 600-17th Ave. SE. Ralph Charley from Souris Valley Special Services will speak about stimulus activity in special education.
Faith United Methodist Church's food and clothing pantry is open Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is located at 801 W. University Ave.

The Minot Curling Club will have an open house and instructional sessions: Wednesday and Thursday, 7 p.m., at the club, State Fairgrounds, Minot. All equipment will be provided to interested people who would like to try curling. The league season will be from Nov. 30 to the end of March. Leagues are evenings Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The club also hosts some weekend events. All new and old curlers may attend the open house and sign up for leagues and to arrange their teams. There will be a club social and dinner Saturday at 6 p.m. at the curling club. Call 838-3452 for more information.

Child Evangelism Fellowship will hold Good News Club for children in grades kindergarten through sixth from 3:10 to 4:20 p.m. at the following schools: Bel Air Elementary Gym, Mondays through Dec. 14; Edison Elementary Fallout Shelter, Tuesdays through Dec. 8; and Longfellow Elementary Library, Wednesdays through Nov. 25. OTHER EVENTS
United Tribes Technical College, Bismarck, will host a presentation about the culture of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa: 3 to 8 p.m., in the college's Wellness Center Healing Room. Anthony and Becky LaFromboise are scheduled as presenters, focusing on Turtle Mountain culture and how to understand and implement cultural teachings. The event is presented by the Chemical Health Center staff of the Lewis Goodhouse Wellness Center at United Tribes. A traditional meal will be served. The public is welcome to attend. University of Mary alumni, students, faculty and staff will bring William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" to the Stage for a 50th Anniversary Tribute: Performances are Wednesday through Saturday, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m., Arno Gustin Hall on campus, Bismarck. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for high school students and seniors. All seats are general admission. Tickets are available at the door or may be reserved by calling 355-8146 during business hours.
