- The Ward County Public Library is hosting the “Book Sale of the Century”: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in the library, 405-3rd Ave. SE. Hundreds of “like new” books will be for sale. The books were donated from a private estate. A silent auction will be held for several of the books. Visit the Web site at (www.co.ward.nd.us/library) or call 852-5388 for more information.
- The North Dakota Commission on Education Improvement meeting: 9 a.m., City Hall, City Council Chambers. The public may attend the meeting and people will have an opportunity to provide input at 2:15 p.m. Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple chairs the 14-member commission which works to address funding equity and adequacy among the state’s schools. Visit (www.governor.nd.gov) for more information.
- United Blood Services Blood Drive: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Westhope Senior Citizens Center. Contact Heidi Feland at 267-3622 for an appointment.
- Soup Kitchen: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Christ Lutheran Church.
- Public hockey: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Maysa Arena.
- Public ice skating: 12:30 to 2 p.m., Maysa Arena.
- Lunch reservations must be made by Wednesday for those who want to atttend the Minot Senior Coalition’s Lunch ‘n’ Learn program Thursday at the Parker Senior Center, 21-1st Ave. SE. Call 852-0561 for reservations.
- “Take Back The Night March” with a town hall meeting to address community issues of domestic violence: The march will be at 6 p.m. starting at the Roosevelt Park Pool parking lot and ending at the Ward County Courthouse. The town hall meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the courthouse’s ex-Servicemen’s meeting room. Events are part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Sponsors are the N.D. Council on Abused Women’s Services, the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, Minot, the Family Advocacy Program at Minot Air Force Base and the Minot YWCA.
- 2nd Story Social Club’s general meeting and member appreciation night: 8 p.m., 13-1st Ave. SW.
LOCAL GOVERNMENT
- Ward County Commission: 9 a.m., Ward County Courthouse.
- Minot Park Board Committee of the Whole meeting: noon, Municipal Auditorium, Municipal Courtroom. The board will consider the bid for the Souris Valley Golf Course wall project. The Golf Course Committee meeting will follow.
- MAGIC Fund Guidelines Review Ad Hoc Committee’s public input meeting: 5:15 p.m., City Hall, council chambers.

- N.D. Air Pollution Control Air Advisory Council public hearing: 9 a.m., Gold Seal Center, fourth floor, 918 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck. The advisory council and the State Health Department scheduled the hearing “to address proposed changes to the N.D.
