The Downtown Business and Professional Association of Minot will hold its annual Halloween Treat Trail event for preschool-age children: 10 a.m. to noon. Maps will be available at several locations in downtown Minot. Participating businesses will have a pumpkin poster in their windows. The Minot Daily News will be one of the businesses participating and will take photos of the children who want to participate and post the photos on cu@minotdailynews.com.
Today Marketplace Foods will sell "Live United" T-shirt cutouts for $1, with proceeds to go to Souris Valley United Way in Minot.
Free Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., First Lutheran Church.
Minot State University Beaver Booster Luncheon: noon, Sevens Restaurant.
Edgewood Vista trick or treating for children ages 12 and under: Children may bring their treat bags to Edgewood Vista, 800-16th Ave. SE, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. They may use the east door.
Minot Family YMCA Annual Halloween Party: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Y, 3515-16th St. SW. The event is for children ages 12 and under and their parents. There will be candy and treats, pop, hotdogs and chips for $1.50 and cotton candy and popcorn for sale. There will be a haunted room and various games to play. People do not have to be Y members to attend.
Pangea Haunted House: Originally scheduled for today and Saturday, 6 to 10:30 p.m., 109 W. Central Ave., has been canceled. The 62 Doors Gallery and Studio's opening reception for the "Art in the Dark" exhibit is still set for Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.
Roosevelt Park Zoo will have its Scary Haunted House open: Today and Saturday, 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., at the zoo. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 years old and younger. The Minot High School-Magic City Campus Playmakers will present "Seussical the Musical," a musical based on the works of Dr. Seuss: Today and Saturday, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m., Arvel Graving Theater, MHS-Magic City Campus. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $5 for students and $3 for children ages 5 and younger. For a reserved seat call 420-1805.

Baby Steps, a 20-minute story time for children ages 18 months to 3 years of age and their caregivers: Fridays at 10 a.m. through Nov. 20, Minot Public Library's Imagination Station.
Ward County Public Library's story time for children ages 18 months and older and their parents or guardians: 11 a.m. to noon today and most Fridays including Nov. 6, 13 and 20; Dec. 4, 11 and 18; Jan. 8, 15, 22 and 29; Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26; March 5, 12 and 26; April 9, 16, 23 and 30; and May 7 and 14 from 11 a.m. to noon in the library at 405-3rd Ave. NE, across from the Minot Daily News building. Story time will also include a craft/activity and a treat. Parents and guardians are asked to stay during story time.
