First District Health Unit is giving flu shots to people of all ages: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., 801-11th Ave. SW, south entrance. People do not need appointments. The cost is $30. People should bring their health insurance card, Medicare card, Medicare Part D card and/or Medicaid card.
Soup kitchen: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Faith United Methodist Church, 801 W. University Ave. The church's food and clothing pantry is open Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m.
Public hockey: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Maysa Arena.

Oktoberfest: 6 to 8 p.m., Minot High School-Magic City Campus. Tickets will be sold at the door, $10 for adults and $8 for students. German students and their immediate families will pay $6. The high school German Club is providing bratwurst, hot dogs, chicken and knefla soup. Drinks and floats will be sold. Tickets for the chance table will be sold.
The French Club of Minot will meet: 6:30 to 8 p.m., The Bagel Stop, 1701 S. Broadway. There is no fee to join and all ages are welcome. Minot State University "Pride of Minot State Concert Band" performance: 7:30 p.m., MSU's Ann Nicole Nelson Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
