Zion Lutheran Church’s Annual Bazaar: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., 1800 Hiawatha St. A soup and bread lunch will be served at noon.
Surrey Senior Citizens’ Third Annual Fall Festival: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Surrey Senior Citizens Center, 301-2nd St. NW, Surrey. Items for sale will include purses, jewerly, candles, craft items and baked goods. Lunch will be served by members of the Surrey Senior Citizens group.
Free weekly Saturday soup kitchen (breakfast): 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Congregational United Church of Christ basement, east door.
First Presbyterian Church’s Annual Fall Bazaar: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 1000-3rd St. NE. There will be sewing and crafts, baked goods, books and white elephant items for sale. A lasagna lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pie and coffee will be served all day.
Holiday Fest Bazaar: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Congregational United Church of Christ, 430 N. Broadway. There will be a silent auction and designer aprons, a bake shop, lefse, crafts, holiday items, Grandma’s Attic, and luncheon of ribbon sandwiches, homemade soup and pies.
Deering Lutheran Church Bazaar: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Deering Community Center. Lunch will be served throughout the bazaar. Crafts and baked goods will be sold.
Annual Fall Craft Sale: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Bottineau Armory. The sale includes only handmade items, no mass-produced items.
Frozen Fingers Music Association Jam Session: 1 to 5 p.m., Sleep Inn, Dakota Square Mall. The event is free and open to the public.
Minot Area Theatrical Society actor and produced playwright Terry J. Aman will lead a free scriptwriting workshop: Saturday and Oct. 31, 3 p.m. both days, Minot Public Library’s Quad Room. The workshop will focus on creating and developing characters, and is open to writers at all levels of experience. People should bring paper and pencil to both, and with Part 2 of the workshop scheduled for Halloween, participants are encouraged to dress as a character they’ve created or whom they admire. Minot American Legion Post 26 social nights: Starting at 4 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 1949 N. Broadway. 
Cemetery Walk at Fort Buford State Historic Site near Williston: 7 p.m., participants should meet at the cemetery gate. Re-enactors will portray past residents of Fort Buford. Visitors should wear warm clothing and shoes and are encouraged to bring flashlights. Every 15 minutes beginning at 7 p.m., a tour of 20 to 25 people will be led through the cemetery. The last tour will begin at 8:15 p.m.  The cemetery will be lit by candlelight and lanterns. There is no admission charge for this event. Guests will receive free refreshments at the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center and the center’s museum store will be open for business. The Minot State University Theater Department will present “Execution of Justice”: Saturday, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m., MSU’s Hartnett Hall, Aleshire Theater. This docudrama focuses on the trial of accused killer Dan White who was convicted of killing San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected public official in the country. Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and free for MSU students, faculty and staff with current MSU identification. Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling 858-3172.
TrixSounds will present MIMS with performances by Shawn “Music Is My Savior” Mims, Skatterman and Snug Brim, Ball Star, Brax and Haterproof: 8:30 p.m., Minot Municipal Auditorium. All ages are welcome. General admission is $18, or $45 for VIP, and $3 off with a college identification. Only cash will be accepted. Advance tickets are available at (www.ticketweb.com) and at Budget Video in Minot and Klix in Dakota Square Mall.
