  • Poker Walk to raise money for the fight against breast cancer: 9 a.m., Trinity Cancer Care Center, Town and Country Shopping Center. All participants must have their walk completed by noon to be eligible for prizes. A prize of $200 will be awarded to the person who draws the best poker hand. Cards will be distributed at the sponsors, Trinity Cancer Care Center, Toads Ride àN' Shine, Video Magic, First International Bank and Trust and South Broadway Miracle Mart.   • Bowdon Duck Fest: Continues through Sunday. Event highlights include a quilt and art show Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Bowdon School and the CottonWood bluegrass and country music concert Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Bowdon School gymnasium.
  • Free weekly Saturday soup kitchen (breakfast): 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Congregational United Church of Christ basement, east door.
  • "Mugs and Hugs" event: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Dakota Square Mall, Minot. Parents may have their children fingerprinted and photographed by personnel from the Minot Police Department and Minot Air Force Base. Safety information will be provided. Current photos and fingerprints could prove vital in the effort to bring a child home safely. The event is sponsored by Clear Channel Radio.
  • Ward County Historical Society's General Board and Membership Meeting: 10 a.m., historical society's Samuelson House, State Fairgrounds.
  • Minot Public Library Fall Book Sale: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the library.
  • Lakeview Art Club of Kenmare's Fall Arts and Crafts Show: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Kenmare Memorial Hall. Lunch will be served and there will be a silent auction.
  • The Taube Museum of Art, 2 N. Main St., is sponsoring "Art a la Carte Saturdays," an all-you-can-eat lunch including dessert and beverage, and children's art activities: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Taube. This one will be "Build your own sandwich." Children must purchase a lunch ticket to participate in the art activities. Call 838-4445 for more information.
  • Sakakawea Chapter of the Good Sam RV Club: 11:30 a.m., Country Kitchen Restaurant, west of Minot.
  • The Dakotah Rose Bed and Breakfast in Minot is sponsoring an "Apple Daze" cooking contest today. Registration forms are available at The Rose, 510-4th Ave. NW. The registration fee of $10 will be donated to "Donelda Grubb's Ministry to Mongolia." The Rose will have an "Apple Daze Tea and Dessert" today at 3 p.m. A variety of apple desserts will be offered for $6.50 per plate with proceeds to benefit "Donelda Grubb's Ministry to Mongolia." Reservations must be made for the "Apple Daze Tea and Dessert" by Friday by calling 838-3548.
  • "Surround the State in Song," a children's honor choir concert: 4 p.m., Minot State University's Ann Nicole Nelson Hall.
  • Adult hockey: 6 to 7:30 p.m., Maysa Arena.
  • The 54th Annual Minot Y's Men's PRCA Indoor Rodeo: Today, 6:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m., State Fair Center, Minot. Reserved seating tickets are available by calling 852-5577, sending e-mail to tickets@minotysmensrodeo.com or visiting the Web site at (minotysmensrodeo.com).
  • Mouse River Players Community Theatre will present Neil Simon's comedy, "Plaza Suite": Today, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m., Arlene Saugstad Theater, MRP building, 115-1st St. SE.
