- Minot Public Library Fall Book Sale: Today, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the library.
- Public hockey: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Maysa Arena.
- Free Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., First Lutheran Church.
- Bowdon Duck Fest: Today through Sunday. Event highlights include a quilt and art show today from noon to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Bowdon School and the CottonWood bluegrass and country music concert Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Bowdon School gymnasium.
- Public ice skating: 12:30 to 2 p.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Maysa Arena.
- Dakota Singles Dining and Dance: Dining at 6 p.m. in Primoás Restaurant, dance from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m., Grand International Inn, Minot. Music will be provided by Dakota Rose Band. The dance is open to all single people and alumni.
- Souris Valley Dancers events: Dinner at 6:30 pm., dance at 7:30 p.m., Minot Municipal Auditorium. Larry Pfennig will be the caller.
- The 54th Annual Minot Y's Men's PRCA Indoor Rodeo: Today and Saturday, 6:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m., State Fair Center, Minot. Reserved seating tickets are available by calling 852-5577.
- The Minot Chamber Chorale fall pop concert: 7:30 p.m., Minot Sleep Inn. The concert, "Let Us Entertain You," will include old and new tunes, folk songs and Broadway numbers. Tickets will be available at the door for $8 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and free for students ages 18 and under. Season tickets will also be sold. There will be a cash bar and snacks.
- Mouse River Players Community Theatre will present Neil Simon's comedy, "Plaza Suite": Today and Saturday, 7:30 p.m, and Sunday, 2 p.m., Arlene Saugstad Theater, MRP building, 115-1st St. SE. Season tickets are $35; individual tickets are $10. Call 838-3939 for general seating reservations and more information.

- 2nd Story Social Club's Pizza Night: 8 p.m., 13-1st Ave. SW.
- Rugby Swinging Singles Dance: 8 p.m.to midnight, Rugby Eagles Club. Lunch will be served and Country Cousins will provide music.The dance is open to all single people and invited married couples.
