KING BIRTHDAY: The Minot area will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday Jan. 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a civil rights awareness event, "Food for Thought: A MLK Day Event," in the Minot Muncipal Auditorium. The event will include soup and sandwiches, live entertainment, art activities for children, a video of King and civil rights awareness activities for all ages. The event is open to the public. Later that day, at 7 p.m., there will be a celebration of the life and work of King at 7 p.m. in Minot State University's Hartnett Hall in Aleshire Theater.
