Thu, July 24, 2014
Trinity Health is offering several “Safe Sitter” classes this summer to help young people improve their babysitting skills. The classes, aimed at adolescents 11 years and older, are designed to educate babysitters in crisis management, keeping children safe and secure, and nurturing and guiding a young child. Safe Sitter is a nationally approved, medically accurate training program. During the daylong course, students receive hands-on practice and receive instruction in a variety of topics, including choking and rescue breathing, safety for the sitter, accident management, child development and the business of babysitting. Courses are scheduled for June 26; July 8, 14, 17 and 24; and Aug. 4 and 7. Classes are held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Health Center-Riverside. A $40 registration fee must be paid in advance. To register or for more information, call Trinity Community Education at 857-5099.
