Things do turn out for the best
It was during the Vikings and Eagles playoff game where I watched my wife’s Scandinavian blue eyes transform into laser beams. During the game, as the score began to look like a rout, I felt certain that I should maintain a safe distance from her. I was busy thinking of how to explain my dislocated arm if I suggested we changed the TV channel, or what a replacement TV and picture window might cost. Fortunately, I didn’t have to find out.
She’s been a loyal Vikings fan and I a Patriots fan for many, many years. I knew the Patriots were going to the Super Bowl and thought how great it would be if both our teams had a chance to go together for the big dance in Minneapolis. This would be once in a lifetime! But it didn’t turn out that way. Maybe for the better, at least we didn’t have to take out a second mortgage on our home for tickets.
Sometimes things do turn out for the best even if we don’t realize it till later on.
