Magic Day of Giving a success

Just three short weeks ago, over 3,100 community members came together to give back to our community for the fourth annual Magic Day of Giving. With over 6,200 volunteer hours, participants were able to create chemotherapy care kits for individuals undergoing treatment; conduct free vision screenings for children; compile and deliver appreciation gifts for police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and sheriff’s deputies; knit scarves for those less fortunate; put together floral arrangements for individuals in hospice care and nursing homes; help seniors winterize their homes; and so much more. All of the volunteer hours equates to an impact of over $157,480 of labor for our community!

September 15th was truly a special day for the community as individuals came together to build a spirit of giving in the Magic City. The success of this event is a direct reflection of the support by area organizations, including the nearly 30 businesses and organizations that stepped forward to sponsor breakfast, t-shirts, and projects to help vulnerable populations in our area.

The Magic Day of Giving Planning Committee would like to thank everyone who participated in this event, including volunteer teams, sponsors, schools, and area nonprofits. We look forward to making an even bigger impact on our community in 2018!
