Theater opening benefits all of Minot
After years of darkness, the Oak Park Theater is set to spring back to life this week. It’s another sign that Minot continues the long process of recovering from the 2011 flood – and it is very much a welcome sign.
The theater joins HighAir Ground Trampoline Park in the neighborhood in providing an injection of energy into the area. This area now has a lot to offer local families, which is a huge improvement from the past few years.
Oak Park Theater is going to offer more than just movie runs at reduced prices. In addition to matinee showings and evening fare, owner Al Schon is excited about the opportunities people will be offered to play game consoles connected to the theater screen. Young people are going to be hugely enthusiastic about that addition.
Another entertainment venue in Minot also benefits the entire community, as that is something lacking on those weekends lacking special event scheduling.
Congratulations to Schon, who has been working on re-opening the theater for some time. He’s succeeded and Minot gets to enjoy the fruits of his success.
Thank you for your efforts, Mr. Schon.
