Verner Stolt

Verner Stolt, 90, Drake,
passed away Sunday,
March 10, 2019 at the St.
Aloisius Nursing Home in
Harvey.
Verner Stolt, son of Au-
gust and Anna (Pattis)
Stolt, was born March 17,
1928 at Drake, ND. He
grew up on the family
farm northeast of Drake
and attended the rural
Roosevelt School #1. As a
young man he began
working in partnership
with his father on the
farm.
On June 22, 1958,
Verner was united in mar-
riage to Carol Braun in
Drake. They made their
home on the Stolt farm
and continued farming
and milking cows until
1984 when they retired
from farming and moved
into Drake.
In addition to farming,
Verner was employed
with Soo Line Railroad for
25 years, retiring in Sep-
tember of 1993.
He was a member and
past council member of
the Trinity Lutheran
Church in Drake and had
been an active member of
the Harvey Eagles Club
for over 30 years.
Verner enjoyed working
in his shop, gardening,
playing cards and reading.
Verner enjoyed spending
every summer on vaca-
tions with his family
when the children were
young.
Verner is survived by
his wife of 60 years, Carol;
children, Mark (Theresa)
of Rock Springs, WY,
Myron (Delores) of rural
Anamoose, Marilyn (Jeff)
Bromley of Anamoose and
Michelle (Brian) Nelson of
East Grand Forks, MN; 16
grandchildren; 13 great-
grandchildren; and his
twin sister, Verna
Sandstrom of Bishop, CA.
He was preceded in
death by his parents and
brother, Arnold Stolt.
Funeral: Thursday,
March 14, 2019 at 11:00
A. M. at the Trinity Luth-
eran Church in Drake.
Burial: John’s Norfolk
Cemetery rural Drake.
