Robert “Bob” Hembree

Robert “Bob” Hembree,
89, Minot, passed away
December 31, 2018, in his
home.
Robert John Hembree
was born December 19,
1929, the son of John and
Blanche (Ostrom) Hem-
bree, in Tolley, ND. He
was raised in Tolley and
graduated from Tolley
High School in 1948. He
furthered his education by
graduating from Minot
State University with a
degree in business educa-
tion.
Bob enlisted in the Un-
ited States Navy June 8,
1948. He proudly served
his country during the
Korean War and was
honorably discharged
June 5, 1952.
Bob was united in mar-
riage to Eunice J. Hansen
February 25, 1951, at
Trinity Lutheran Church
in Tolley, ND. Bob and
Eunice lived briefly in
Minneapolis and Moor-
head, MN while he
worked for Ford Motor
Credit before they moved
to Minot, ND where Bob
continued to work for
Ford Motor Credit and
Westlie Motors.
Eunice passed away
August 5, 2013.
Throughout the years
living in the Minot com-
munity he was a member
of the Kiwanna’s and St.
Mark’s Lutheran Church.
And served on boards of
the Minot Planning Com-
mission, Minot Public Li-
brary and North Dakota
Democratic party.
Bob enjoyed studying
and researching all as-
pects of our economy
along with watching the
MN Twins, MN Vikings
and Bison Football. He
was most proud of serving
in the US Navy and being
involved with various or-
ganizations in the Minot
community. He enjoyed
and appreciated when
family and friends
stopped by for a visit. He
often said his greatest ac-
complishment in life was
being able to marry Eun-
ice.
Surviving family in-
cludes: brother, Joel (Yong
hui) Hembree, Las Vegas,
NV; sister, Virgene (Ken-
neth) Reischke, Glen
Ewen, Saskatchewan; sis-
ter-in-law, Judy (David)
Fitzgerald Hazen, ND; and
numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Robert was preceded in
death by his parents;
wife, Eunice; and broth-
ers, James, Leon (Cub)
and Vance.
Funeral: Thursday,
January 3, 2019, at 11:00
a.m. at St. Mark’s Luth-
eran Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill
Memorial Park, Minot,
ND.
Visitation: Wednesday
from 5 to 7 p.m. at
Thompson-Larson Fun-
eral Home, Minot.
Memorials: are pre-
ferred to either St. Mark’s
Lutheran Church or Minot
Public Libray.
