Robin Rae Borud
Sept. 11, 1973-Sept. 22, 2018
Robin Rae Borud, 45,
Minot, died Saturday,
September 22, 2018, in
Minot.
Robin was born Sep-
tember 11, 1973, in Minot
to James and Leone
(Clark) Sundley. She was
raised and educated at
Powers Lake, where she
graduated in 1992. She at-
tended Minot State
University and graduated
with a degree in Social
Work in 1996.
Robin was united in
marriage to Brent Borud
on July 11, 1998, in Stan-
ley. They made their lov-
ing home in Minot, where
she began her social work
career with Ward County
Social Services, working
in child protection and
then continuing with
North Central Human Ser-
vices for a combination of
over 20 years. Here she
found her second family –
the loving coworkers with
whom she changed lives.
In addition, she loved
working at Applebee’s as
a server for several years.
In all of these positions,
Robin’s loving and caring
nature showed.
Robin was a member of
First Lutheran Church,
Minot, where she was ac-
tive in teaching children’s
Wednesday school
classes. Her motherly na-
ture transpired past her
immediate family, and
into the lives of everyone
she met. Her pride and
joy was attending all of
her children’s activities,
traveling to Jamaica and
the Bahamas, going to
concerts, camping, boat-
ing, and simply lounging
in her fuzzy purple robe.
Although she left us too
early, her legacy will live
on in the kindness she
showed others, and the
countless memories of her
love.
Her loving family in-
cludes, husband, Brent of
Minot; son Brock and his
friend, Ethlyn of Grand
Forks; daughter Mya, at
home; parents James and
Leone Sundley, Minot;
sister, Tammy (Kelly)
Rodgers, New Town;
brothers, Dale (Rikki)
Sundley, Battleview and
Jason (Kim) Sundley,
Massilon, OH; mother and
father-in-law, Arlo and
Faye Borud, Stanley;
brothers and sister-in-law,
Brian (Janel) Borud and
Brad Borud, both of Stan-
ley; a number of nieces,
nephews and cousins.
