2018 in a Minot Nursing

Home.

Doreen Negaard was

born to Alvin and Hazel

Bomstad at Lostwood, ND

on September 19, 1926.

They moved to a farm

near Lignite, ND in 1934.

Doreen graduated from

Lignite High School in

1945 and married Julius

Negaard on June 17 of

that same year. Doreen

was a partner in the farm

operation near Columbus

and raised four sons.

Doreen always had a

garden and excelled at

food preparation and can-

ning. She fostered a

wonderful home en-

vironment for her family

and guests. She was the

best mother and grand-

mother anyone could ask

for.

Doreen was active in

the PTA, band mothers,

Short Creek Ladies Aid,

Trinity Lutheran Church,

Trinity Ladies Aid, bowl-

ing, dancing and fishing.

Doreen and Julius re-

tired from farming and

moved into Columbus in

1978. They wintered in

Mesa, AZ and travelled to

Europe, Asia, and Aus-

tralia. Doreen enjoyed

swimming, painting, knit-

ting, playing cards, and

raising flowers. Doreen

resided in Minot for the

past 20 years.

Doreen is survived by:

her sons; Jerome, Don

(Jennifer), and Paul, all of

Minot and Larry in New

York, NY. She has nine

grandchildren; Jeffrey

Negaard, Amanda

Negaard, Mari Flatt (Bar-

rett), Nathan (Christina)

Negaard, Jonathan

Negaard, Michelle Gibner

(Jason), Holly Anderson

(Russell), Shannon

Negaard, and Brittany

Negaard, and eight great

grandchildren. Two sis-

ters, Jermaine Undhjem of

Minot and Arlyss Harold-

son in Sun City West, AZ

survive as well.

Doreen was prede-

ceased by: her parents,

husband Julius, and an in-

fant son.

Visitation: with family

present on September 14,

2018 at 5:00 p.m. to 7

p.m. at Thompson Larson

services at 6:30 p.m. Fun-

eral service: on Sep-

tember 15 at 10:00 a.m. at

Thompson Larson Funeral

Home. Internment ser-

vices: will be at Short

Creek Cemetery at 3:00

p.m. after fellowship in

Minot, ND.

Cemetery, rural Columbus
