Lynn N. Roberts, 88, of

Grand Forks, ND passed

away Tuesday, February

27, 2018 at Altru Hospital

in Grand Forks.

Lynn Neil Roberts was

born September 3, 1929 in

rural Parshall, ND, the

son of Floyd and Helen

(Woodiwiss) Roberts.

Lynn graduated from

Garrison High School in

Garrison, ND and attend-

ed Wahpeton State School

of Science, Wahpeton, ND

where he received a de-

gree in Refrigeration and

Electrical Technology. He

also went on to receive a

Bachelor of Science de-

gree in School Adminis-

tration and Elementary

Education from Minot

State Teacher’s College,

Minot, ND.

Lynn married Donna M.

Dufner on June 4, 1955 in

St. Theresa, Church of the

Little Flower in Minot.

After moving to Crosby,

ND, they made their home

on a farmstead they

named the “Little

Ponderosa.” Lynn taught

Social Studies and be-

came a junior high school

principal. They raised

four children, Marsha,

Mark, David and Deanne.

Lynn continued his

career in Crosby as ad-

ministrator of St. Luke’s

Hospital. While living for

over 20 years in Crosby,

Lynn was a member of

many organizations in-

cluding Governor of the

Moose Lodge, President of

Divide County School

Board, St. Patrick’s Holy

Name Society, Cub Scout

Master, Knights of

Columbus, Toastmasters

and Kiwanis. Lynn and

Donna moved to Bot-

tineau, ND where he

served as assistant hospi-

tal administrator with St.

Andrew’s Health Center

and then as administrator

of the Good Shepherd

Home in Watford City,

ND. After moving to

Minot, he attained the lev-

el of Fourth Degree in the

Knights of Columbus and

worked as a building

maintenance manager.

After Donna’s death, Lynn

moved to Grand Forks

Country Estates, a retire-

ment community, in 2012

where he made many new

friends and loved his hob-

bies of model trains and


Those who shared in

his life include: his four

children, Marsha (Micha-

el) Allmaras, Grand Forks,

ND, Mark (Melissa)

Roberts, Kamas, UT, Da-

vid (Linda) Roberts,

Bismarck, ND and Deanne

(Paul) Sund, Newburg,

ND; his brother, Eldon; 13

grandchildren; 13

great-grandchildren and


brothers-in-laws; nieces

and nephews.

Lynn was preceded in

death by: his parents, his

wife, Donna, and his sis-

ter, Doris Kelso.

Visitation: One hour

prior to the liturgy in the

chapel on Saturday.

Burial: Rosehill

Cemetery, Minot, ND in

the spring.
