Lowell T. Skabo

Lowell Travis Skabo

passed away peacefully

on February 7, 2018 in

Colorado Springs. He was

born October 4, 1933 in

Ambrose, ND to Nels and

Myrtle (Bloom) Skabo.

He graduated from

Crosby High School in

1951 and Minot State

Teachers’ College in 1955.

He served in the Army,

and was in the 33rd Army

Band, in 1956-57. He was

a math teacher at Ramstad

Middle School in Minot

for 6 years, before enter-

ing his career as a

software engineer for a

variety of DoD contractor

firms. In these years he

had opportunities to live

and work in CA, NY, MT,

and VA, before settling in

Colorado Springs. He re-

tired from Ford Aerospace

as a Sr. Systems Analyst.

Lowell was an accom-

plished bowler for many

years, enjoyed golf with

friends and family, skiing

(a good day of skiing in-

volved leaving home at

8:00, breakfast at 10:00,

hitting the lifts at noon,

and enjoying beer and

nachos by 3:00!) He loved

his family, breakfast out,

working any type of puz-

zle, and spending time in

Crested Butte, CO.

He is survived by: sons

Kirk (Deanna) and Craig

(Lorie), and grandchildren

Travis and Ashlee. Also

surviving are

sisters-in-law Joan Skabo,

Eleanor Pietsch, Dorothy

Roise, and Thelma DeBilt,

and many nieces,

nephews and friends.

Preceding him in death

are: his wife Verna, his

parents, twin brother Le-

land, brothers-in-law Carl

Trondson, Robert Roise,

Bill DeBilt and Kenny Lin-

ster; sisters-in-law Mar-

garet Trondson and Mari-

dell Linster; nephew Gary

Pietsch and nieces Paula

(Skabo) Hartze and Rhon-

da Roise.

Private family services

are pending. Memorial

contributions in his name,

at the donors’ discretion,

may be made to a charity

of choice.
