Jerald Orth, 90, Minot,

ND, passed away Tues-

day, February 27, 2018, at

Souris Valley Care Center

in Velva.

Jerald Omar Orth was

born February 15, 1928,

the son of Orlan and Ida

(Brabandt) Orth, in rural

Norwich, ND. He was

raised and educated in

Granville.

Jerald married Marge

Kemper May 16, 1948, at

Hope Congregational Un-

ited Church of Christ in

Granville, ND. They made

their home in Granville

until 1964, when they

moved to Minot. He start-

ed his mechanical career

at Kresbach’s Internation-

al Harvester, then at

Smitty’s Transmission,

and finally at Key RV.

He was a member of the

United Church of Christ,

the Minot Aircraft

Modelers, and the Moose

Lodge, all of Minot.

He enjoyed fishing and

traveling along with

building and flying his

model airplanes. Jerald

was a musician, who en-

joyed playing the saxo-

phone, accordion and or-

gan. He always played

like he lived his life –

with heart.

Surviving family in-

cludes: wife of 69 years

and 9 months, Marge,

Minot; sons, Keith C.

Orth, Riverdale, and

Jerald W. Orth, Lancaster,

OH; 5 grandchildren, Jer-

ry, Allan, Michael, and

Daniel Orth, and Cheryl

Orth Ingerson; 11

great-grandchildren;

half-brother, Larry Orth;

half-sisters, Eunice Peters

and Linda Cooper; sister,

Elaine Erlandson; and

numerous nieces and

nephews.

Jerald was preceded in

death by: his parents and

step-mother Ester (John-

son) Orth.

Memorial Service:

Tuesday, March 6, 2018,

at 11:00 a.m. at United

Church of Christ, Minot.

Visitation: There will

be no reviewal, but

friends may stop by, visit

with family and sign the

register book on Monday

from 5 to 7 p.m. at

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home, Minot.
