David Bice

David Tupper Bice, age

75, Minot, passed away

on Friday, March 9, 2018,

after a short battle with

cancer.

David was born on

January 23, 1943 in Og-

densburg, New York, to

Erwin and Frances

(Tupper) Bice. He was

the youngest of seven

children. He graduated

from Herman Dekalb High

School in 1960 and short-

ly afterwards entered the

US Air Force where he

served our country for 21

years, retiring January 31,

1982.

David was an air traffic

controller during his first

four years in the Air

Force. He later served two

tours in Vietnam. He end-

ed his career in the Air

Force as the NCOIC of the

5th Bomb Wing Com-

mand Post at Minot AFB.

David was once married

to Diana Hall. From this

union, three children,

Lanta, Amanda and

Joshua were born.

David married Margaret

“Peggy” Montgomery on

July 2, 1982 in Minot. To-

gether, they raised their

three boys, Ethan,

Nathaniel, and Dylan. Da-

vid was very proud of all

his children and loved be-

ing a dad.

After his Air Force

career, David worked at

Ward County as a

dispatcher, corrections

officer, and in Child Sup-

port Enforcement. He

was the first civilian

dispatcher for the Minot

Police Department. He

also worked at Sykes and

ING. David retired in 2001

to become a fulltime

house husband. He en-

joyed taking care of the

household duties while

Peggy worked, and being

able to spend time with

their three sons.

David enjoyed traveling

to visit his older children,

grandchildren, and his

family in Ogdensburg. He

and Peggy also traveled to

Ireland, Alaska, and Mexi-

co.

David is survived by

his wife of 35 years, Peggy

Montgomery and his chil-

dren: Lanta Totten and

her husband, Ron, and

their children, Liz,

Turner, Emerson and De-

clan; Amanda Reed and

her husband, Brian, and

their children, Gwen,

Chloe and Faie; Joshua

Bice and his wife, Heath-

er, and their children

Hunter and Jillian; Ethan

Bice and his wife, Kim;

Nathaniel Bice and Dylan

Bice. He is also survived

by his brother, James

Bice. Also surviving are

his brothers and sisters-

in-law: Jim and Kim

Montgomery, Becky

Montgomery and Dave

Haley, Tom and Bonnie

Montgomery, Jeanne and

Paul Boespflug, and Julie

Montgomery; and num-

erous nephews and nieces

and great nephews and

nieces and cousins.

John the Apostle Catholic

Church, Minot.

Interment: Fort Snelling

National Cemetery, Min-

neapolis, MN.

Visitation: There will

be no reviewal, but

friends may sign the re-

gister book on Tuesday

from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at St.

John the Apostle Catholic

Church, Minot.

Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at

St. John the Apostle

Catholic Church, Minot.
