Butte, ND, passed away
Sunday, February 18,
2018, in her home.
Esther Heinle was born
to Otto and Katherina
(Fehr) Heinle on July 24,
1932, on the family farm-
stead located south of
Richardton, ND. She was
raised and educated in
Richardton. She then at-
tended nursing school in
Dickinson, ND and later
worked as an LPN for a
short time. Esther mar-
ried Elvin M. Striha
March 14, 1956, in He-
bron, ND. They made
their home on the Striha
family farm, located in
Dogden Township of
McLean County, near
Butte, ND. They eventual
ly took over the operation
of the family farm from
Elvin’s parents and con-
tinued to raise small
grains and livestock. Elvin
passed away November 8,
2004.
She enjoyed having a
household of kids. She ba-
bysat for many children of
family and friends. She
also enjoyed watching
television, the Golden
Girls being her favorite.
She enjoyed baking as
well and was famous for
her bread.
Surviving family in-
cludes: children: Joan
Striha of Turtle Lake, Ran-
dal Striha of Butte, Janet
(Paul) Fuchs of Norwich,
Linette Hjelden of Minot,
and Delvin Striha of Tur-
tle Lake; grandchildren:
Haley and Hadley Hjel-
den; Hunter and Cody
Fuchs; Jakob Kasprowicz,
Jared and JyliAnne Striha;
and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Esther was preceded in
death by: her parents;
husband, Elvin; brothers:
Emanuel and Willie
Heinle; sisters: Louise
Frey, Alvina Krein, Hilda
Kuntz, Gertrude Idler, and
Anna Auch.
Funeral: Thursday,
February 22, 2018, at 1:00
p.m. at Thompson-Larson
Funeral Home Chapel,
Minot.
Interment: Butte
Cemetery, Butte, ND, in
the spring of 2018.
Visitation: Thursday
from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00
p.m. at Thompson-Larson
Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: are pre-
ferred to St. Jude’s
Children’s Hospital or to
an organization of the
donor’s choice.
