Darrell Olson, 62,

Minot, passed away Sun-

day, January 28, 2018 at

his residence.

Darrell was born on

May 3, 1955, in Minot,

ND, the son of Donald

and Doris G. (Iverson) Ol-

son. He was reared and

educated in Minot, ND,

attending Sunnyside and

Lincoln Elementary, Ram-

stad Junior High and Mag-

ic City Campus. He re-

ceived his GED from

Dover, New Hampshire.

In 1974, he moved to

Montgomery, Alabama,

where he worked in a fur-

niture factory.

In 1976, he moved to

New Hamsphire, where

he worked for Pepsi and

then began an over 25

year career of delivering

fuel oil and propane and

installing and repairing

furnaces and central air

conditioners. He was em-

ployed by DuPont Pro-

pane and Fuel Oil ,

Webber Energy Fuels and

Proulx Propane and Fuel ,

receiving several awards

for being an outstanding


Darrell moved back to

North Dakota, in 2005

where he was employed

by Concrete Mobile until

retiring in 2017 due to ill


Darrell had many skills

and he was self taught.

He liked to build, repair

and remodel. He always

had a project in progress

and was happiest when

he was working.

Darrell was a loving and

caring person, always

ready to help others and

many times put other

people’s needs before his


Darrell was a member

of Bread of Life Lutheran

Church, Minot, ND

Darrell is survived by:

his mother, Doris G. (Iver-

son) Olson, Minot, ND;

brother, Dean Olson,

Minot; sisters; Nancy

Quam, Minot, Dona

Strube and her husband,

Larry Blanton, Florence,

Kentucky; half-sister,

Bonnie (Marty) Worden,

Jackson, Michigan;

sister-in-law, Laurel

Landers Olson, Minot;

Nieces and nephews, Le-

Andra (Phil) Hamilton,

Powers Lake, ND, Cam-

eron Olson, Minot and

Allan (Brittany) Olson,

Minot, ND. 2 great nieces

and one great nephew.

He was preceded in

death by: his father, pater-

nal and maternal

grandparents; brother,

Vernon, half-brother,

Donald; brother-in-law,

Merlyn Quam and niece,

Erin Quam.

Funeral Service will be:

on Monday, February 5,

2018 at 11 a.m. at Bread of

Life Lutheran Church,


Burial: Rosehill

Memorial Park, Minot, ND

Visitation: Sunday,

from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

with a Prayer Service at 4

p.m. all at

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home, Minot.

In place of flowers the

family would prefer

memorials to Bread of Life

Lutheran Church or Trini-

ty Hospice.
