Daniel Bruner, 82,

Drake, passed away Mon-

day, January 29, 2018 at

the St. Aloisius Nursing

Home in Harvey.

Daniel Bruner, son of

Frank and Theresa (Kell-

er) Bruner, was born

March 18, 1935 at rural

Drake where he grew up

and began farming with

his father and brothers at

an early age. He attended

the nearby Guthrie ele-

mentary school and later

Drake High School, gra-

duating in 1953.

On October 16, 1957,

Dan was united in mar-

riage to Rose Schan at

Karlsruhe. They made

their home north of Drake

where they raised their

three children, Neal, Jack-

ie and James, and lived all

their married lives.

Dan loved deer hunting

with his family and play-

ing golf at the local golf

course where he was a

member for many years.

He was also a member of

St. Margaret Mary Cathol-

ic Church, the Knights of

Columbus Council #5856,

and a charter member of

the Drake Threshing As-


He served on the Veren-

drye Electric Cooperative

Board for 27 years, the

Drake Creamery Board for

17 years and the Stregge

Township Board for a

number of years.

Dan is survived by, his:

wife of 60 years, Rose,

Drake; daughter, Jackie

Drake; daughter-in-law,

Shirley Bruner,

day, Feb. 3, at 10:30 a.m.

at St. Margaret Mary

Catholic Church in Drake.

Visitation: Friday from

3 P.M. to 5 P.M. at

Bethke-Nelson Funeral

Home in Drake.

Prayer Service: Friday

evening at 7:00 P.M. at the
