Cheryl Eshenko

March 23, 1953-Feb. 18, 2018

Cheryl Eshenko, 64,

Minot, passed away Sun-

day, February 18, 2018, in

her home, following a

courageous battle with

Mesothelioma, a rare form

of cancer.

Cheryl Ann Klein was

born March 23, 1953, in

Minot, ND, to Leo and

Teresa (Lochthowe) Klein.

She was the oldest of 8

children and loved her

brothers and sisters dear-

ly. She was raised in

Norwich and attended

school in Surrey until

1966, when her father

passed away. The family

then moved to Sawyer.

She was a varsity cheer-

leader and yearbook edi-

tor and graduated with

honors from Sawyer High

School in 1971.

Cheryl married the love

of her life and high school

sweetheart, Terry Eshen-

ko on September 25, 1971,

in Minot. They were

blessed with three chil-

dren and 8 grandchildren.

Cheryl worked at First Na-

tional Bank in Minot be-

fore beginning her career

as a Pharmacy Technician

at B&B Northwest Phar-

macy (formerly Northwest

Pharmacy) where she

worked for over 36 years.

She enjoyed cooking

and baking for family

gatherings and was

known for her caramel

rolls, date bars and

homemade rhubarb jam.

She was an avid reader

and had a hard time put-

ting a book down once

she started it. She looked

forward to springtime

when she could plant the

many beautiful flowers

she so loved. Shopping

had to be one of her favor-

ite pastimes; she could

spend hours in a store

without buying a thing.

And more often than not,

when she did buy some-

thing, it was for others

rather than for herself.

She cherished every

minute spent with her 8

grandchildren, whether it

was reading to them, play-

ing games together, taking

them shopping at the Dol-

lar Store or just fixing

them breakfast (it was

unanimous that Grandma

made the best oatmeal

ever). And when it came

time to kick back, relax

and soothe that pesky lit-

tle gambling bug bite, a

trip to Las Vegas with Ter-

ry or a night out playing

Bingo with friends was

just what the doctor or-

She was a member of

Our Lady of Grace Cathol-

ic Church and had a deep

relationship with her
