Neil Bohmbach

July 8, 1926-Dec. 27, 2017

Neil Vernon Bohmbach

was born, along with his

twin sister, Frances, on

July 8, 1926 at Charlson,

ND to Louis and Veroley

(Falls) Bohmbach. He was

raised on the farm and at-

tended grade school there.

He graduated from high

school in Sanish in 1943.

On February 8, 1945 Neil

entered the US Army

serving in Southeast Asia

until his honorable

discharge on May 21,

1947. He then returned to

the farm and ranch at

Charlson.

On September 23, 1949

Neil was united in mar-

riage to June Steffenson in

Detroit, Michigan. They

soon returned to Charlson

to farm and ranch and

Neil also worked for Tex-

aco Oil Company. He and

June had three children

Steffen, Clark and Jill.

The boys joined their fa-

ther in farming and ranch-

ing which continues to-

day. His love of the land

and cattle was passed on.

His daughter Jill, always

held a special place in

Neil’s heart. An enjoyable

part of Neil’s life was

spent at many school ac-

tivities, sports and rodeos

for his grandchildren.

Neil served on the

Farmers Union and New

Town School Boards and

was a member of the

McKenzie County Grazing

Association. He was par-

ticularly loyal to the Beck

Sherven American Legion

Post 290 where he served

as the First Commander.

Eventually, Neil lived at

the Hilltop Home of Com-

fort in Killdeer where he

was content. His wife,

June died on January 24,

2017. Neil Vernon

Bohmbach, 91, New

Town, died Wednesday,

December 27, 2017 at the

nursing home in Killdeer

where he was a resident.

Neil is survived by: his

sons, Steffen (Julie) of

Keene and Clark (Bonnie)

of Charlson; daughter, Jill

DeGree (Bruce) of Fox-

holm; sister, Frances

Ventsch of New Town;

grandchildren, Jed

Bohmbach (Jodi), Clay

Bohmbach (Tara), Gwen

Rivinius (Josh), Genessa

Knowles (Brian), Bridger

Bohmbach, Brianna Vine

(Kyle), Cody Colby (Julie),

Jessie Colby and Mallory

Lochtowe (Jake); Fifteen

Great-grandchildren;

sister-in-law, Shirley

Bohmbach and several

nieces and nephews. He

was preceded in death by

his parents; his wife of 67

years, June; brother, Mar-

vin Bohmbach; sister,

Blanche Vigen; sister-

in-law, Gene Hansen;

brothers-in-law, John

Hansen and Art Ventsch;

and niece, Carol Ann

Hansen.

Funeral: Wednesday,

January 3, 2018 at 11:00

am in Bethel Lutheran

Church, New Town.

Visitation: Tuesday,

January 2, 2018 from

5:00pm – 7:00 pm in the

church.

Interment: Wednesday

at 2:00 pm in Good Hope

Cemetery, First Lutheran

Church, Keene.
