Curtis Lawson,72, Don-

nybrook, ND, passed

away peacefully on De-

cember 29, 2017 in his

home.

Curtis Jerome Lawson

was born June 21, 1945

the son of Gordon and

Maybell (Perron) Lawson,

in Kenmare, ND. He was

raised and educated in

Donnybrook where he

graduated with the class

of 1963.

Curtis married Cather-

ine Frank on January 23,

1964. They made their

home in Donnybrook, ND,

where Curtis worked for

his brother Gene until Oc-

tober 23, 1975, when he

became the

owner/operator of Lawson

Oil Company, retiring in

2006. Every year, on their

anniversary, Curtis and

Cathy made an annual

trip to celebrate in Las Ve-

gas, a tradition that began

when Cathy turned 21.

Curtis served on the St.

Anthony Catholic Church

Council, Donnybrook City

Council, was an active

volunteer firefighter, and

a member of the Eagles

and Elks lodges.

Curtis enjoyed playing

poker at the Stanley

American Legion Hall,

shooting pool, going to

the local casinos, playing

games on his I-pad,

coaching Babe Ruth Base-

ball with Father Wald,

and since 1985, spending

summers at Lake Meti-

goshe where he spent

endless hours pulling

skiers and tubers and also

played golf at the Birch-

wood Golf Course.

ine ‘Cathy’ Lawson;

daughters, Julie (Marlo)

ty Lohman) Lawson, Far-

go, ND and Tracy (Jarrod)

Lohman, Macey (Taylor)

Watkins, Chase Mosser,

Cody Borud and Keaton

Borud;

great-grandchildren, Syd-

ney Lohman and Mikal

sisters, MaDonna Ennis,

Williston, ND, Doreen

Curtis was preceded in

death by: his parents; sis-

ters, Betty Spaulding and

Marlene Maynard, broth-

ers, Gordon “Snooky”,

Gene, and James ‘Buzz’

Lawson, sister-in-law,

Phyllis Lawson,

brother-in-law, Jim Ennis.
