Kenneth F. Tuttle

Kenneth F. Tuttle, 94,

formerly of Austin, Min-

nesota, died peacefully,

surrounded by his family,

on Thursday, November

30, 2017, at the Floyd

County Medical Center in

Charles City, Iowa.

Ken was born No-

vember 18, 1923, in Rice-

ville, Iowa, to Willie and

Marion (Haire) Tuttle.

During high school, he

was proud to have gone to

State in wrestling and in

1943, he graduated from

Hampton High School. He

went to work at the Geo.

A. Hormel Co. after gra-

duation and he served in

the U.S. Airforce from

1948 to 1952 during the

Korean War. Ken married

the love of his life, JoAnn

John, on August 23, 1952

at the United Methodist

Church in St. Croix Falls,

Wisconsin. Ken and

JoAnn returned to Austin

where he worked for the

Geo. A. Hormel Co., retir-

ing after 38 years.

Ken was an avid sports-

man and looked forward

to hunting and fishing in

North Dakota. He enjoyed

spending time with his

family. He was a proud

member of the Civil Air

Patrol for 35 years and

achieved the rank of Ma-

jor, commanding the Aus-

tin Post where he was in-

volved in many search

and rescue efforts. He re-

ceived his pilot’s license

in 1971. He was also a

member of Crane Com-

munity Chapel.

He was preceded in

death by his parents;

wife, JoAnn; grandson,

Brian Tuttle; sisters, Ila,

Faith and Faye; brothers,

Grant and Henry and twin

brother, Keith.

Ken is survived by his

sons: Neil (Cathy) Tuttle,

Orchard, IA, Wayne

(Lucy) Tuttle, Minot, ND,

and Bradley (Lisa) Tuttle,

Austin, MN; daughter:

LuAnn (Gary) Betcher,

Stewartville, MN;

grandchildren: Christo-

pher (Danielle) Tuttle,

Jennifer (Bill) Preuser,

Chad (Rebecca) Tuttle,

Tanner Tuttle (Jessi Bush-

nell), Corey (Teresa) Tut-

tle, Clayton (Ashley) Tut-

tle, Jessica Tuttle, Steph-

anie Tuttle, Jackie Betch-

er, Paul Betcher; great

grandchildren: Dylan,

Kelsi, Kyle, Brittney, Kay-

la, Brianna, Mason, Brin-

ley, Cody, Cayden and

Brian; great-great-grand-

children: Zoey, Rhiley,

Hunter, Asia and Freya;

nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be

held at 1:30 PM on Mon-

day, December 4th, at

Crane Community Chapel

with the Reverend Dale

Christiansen officiating.

Interment will be at

Grandview Cemetery.

Visitation will be at

Clasen-Jordan Mortuary

on Sunday from 4:00 to

6:00 PM and at the church

on Monday for one hour

before the service.
