Marian Leigh, 86,

Bismarck, ND, formerly of

Minot, ND, passed away

Friday, November 3, 2017,

at her daughter’s home in

Bismarck.

Marian Rose Shattun

was born May 8, 1931, the

daughter of Samuel and

Ida (Mock) Shattun, in

Kief, ND. As a young girl,

she lived in both San

Francisco, CA and Flint,

MI before the family

moved to Minot in 1946.

Marian married Duane

Leigh on March 11, 1949

in Minot. They made their

home in Minot and from

this union five children

were born: Gorman, De-

borah, Marsha, Jeffrey and

Kimberly.

In 1961, Duane started

Leigh Painting, for which

Marian did the bookkeep-

ing until her retirement in

1994. Marian and Duane

then moved to Butte, ND,

where they lived during

the winters. They spent

most of their summers at

their cabin on Strawberry

Lake, south of Ruso, ND,

where they enjoyed

spending time with their

family and grandchildren.

Duane passed away on

April 6, 2000. Following

his passing, Marian

moved back to Minot,

where she resided until

May of this year when she

moved to Bismarck to be

with her daughter

Kimberly.

City, MT, Deborah (Terry)

Lykken, Rapid City, SD,

Marsha (Joe) Reutter,

Chehalis, WA and Kim

(Sean) Conway, Bismarck;

grandchildren, Morgan

Leigh, Travis and Clint

Lykken, Nicole Herber,

Jeremiah and Theron

Reutter, Ashleigh and

Christopher Conway and

Kyle Walter; 8

great-grandchildren; sis-

ter, Betty Rhodes, Elk

Grove, CA; and numerous

nieces, nephews and

cousins.

Marian was preceded

in death by: her parents;

husband, Duane Leigh;

son, Jeffrey Leigh; grand-

daughter, Sterling Leigh;

brothers, Richard, Robert

and LeRoy Shattun; sister,

Dorothy Heille; and her

infant twin sisters, Dar-

lene and Marleen Shattun.

Funeral: Friday, No-

vember 10, 2017, at 11:00

a.m. at Thompson-Larson

Funeral Home, Minot,

ND.

Interment: Rosehill

Memorial Park, Minot,

ND.

Visitation: There will

be no reviewal, but
