Joyce Pank, 77, Makoti,

died Saturday, November

18, 2017, surrounded by

her family, at home.

Joyce Kay Pank was

born September 19, 1940

in Makoti to Jacob and Al-

ice (Mikkelson) Petz. She

was raised on the family

farm near Ryder and at-

tended country school

through the eighth grade.

She then transferred to

Makoti High School.

On June 8, 1959, Joyce

was united in marriage to

Jessy Pank in Minot. They

made their home on the

Pank family farm, near

Makoti. Joyce was a

homemaker and a farm

wife. Joyce moved into

Makoti a few years after

Jessy’s death on October

21, 2008. She resided next

to her partner-in-crime,

Bonnie Schenfisch.

Joyce’s home always had

open doors and she treat-

ed everyone as family.

Joyce was a member of

the Makoti Homemakers,

the American Legion Aux-

iliary and Hope Lutheran

Church and its ladies aid.

She was also a lifetime

member of the Makoti

Threshing Association.

Joyce loved to travel

and went on a memorable

Alaskan cruise with her

girlfriends. She also liked

to embroider, bowl and

play darts. She cherished

time spent with her fami-

ly.

Joyce is survived by:

her son, Troy Pank

(Valerie) of Makoti;

daughters, Pennie Ed-

wards (Shawn) of Minot,

DelRaye Giesen (Wayne)

of Makoti and Wendy

Pank of Bismarck; broth-

ers, Richard Petz (Phyllis)

of Tucson, AZ, Dennis

Petz of Makoti, Lowell

“Skip” Petz (Kathy) of De-

laware and Greg Petz

(Shirley) of New Town;

sisters, Donna Iglehart

(Don) of Garrison,

Kathryn Olson (Arnold) of

Minot, and Doreen Wilk-

enson of Seattle, WA; her

grandchildren, Travis,

Shane and ShaLene Trul-

son; Jordan (Brittany),

Kyle and Macey Giesen,

and Joyce’s “little man”

Dylan Pank;

great-grandchildren, Lux

Clark; Kyren and Krue

Trulson; and Madison

Giesen; and best friend,

Bonnie Schenfisch.

She was preceded in

death by: her parents;

husband; brother, Duane

Petz; sister, Peggy Lam-

pert; and son-in-law, Har-

lan Trulson.

2017 at 11 a.m. in Hope

Lutheran Church, Makoti
