Ronald Schan

Ronald Joseph Schan,

67, Bismarck, ND, and

formerly of Minot, ND,

passed away Friday, Oc-

tober 13, 2017, in a

Bismarck hospital.

Ronald was born on

February 20, 1950, a son

of Joe and Helen (Bur-

khardsmeier) Schan in

Minot, ND. He was raised

and educated in Minot

and graduated from Minot

High School.

Ronald was a former

member of the 2nd Story

in Minot and currently a

member of Pride Enter-

prises in Bismarck, where

he worked. He was bap-

tized and confirmed at St.

Leo the Great Roman

Catholic Church in Minot

and was a member of As-

cension Catholic Church

in Bismarck, where he

helped collect missalettes

after mass. He also

helped at the “Seeds of

Hope” food pantry. Ron

worked and the McQuade

Recycling and at hotels

through the “Pride” pro-

gram. After he retired he

helped at “Gracefully Ag-

ing”.

Ronald was a savant

when it came to cars, they

were “his thing”. He

could tell you everything

about any car that he saw.

He loved racing events

and the Dakota Speedway

and especially enjoyed

when his cousin, Leo, was

racing. He was also an

avid bowler and walker,

and was known to walk

all over Bismarck. He

also walked in the Breast

Cancer Walk every year.

Ronald loved to

volunteer, whether it be at

the Sam McQuade

Memorial Softball Tour-

nament and for any and

every other group that

needed volunteers. He

also delivered baskets for

“Open Your Heart”.

Ronald is survived by

his sisters, Bonita “Bon-

nie” Zerr of Sioux Falls,

SD, Joleene (Rick) Elich of

Westminster, CO, Teena

Duffy of Altus, OK, and

Tamara “Tammy” (Mike)

Neigh of Lakewood, CO;

brother, Richard “baby

brother Ricky” Schan of

Westminster, CO; nieces

and nephews, Anissa,

Tara, Miranda (and her

significant other, Praus),

Jared, Ben, Noah, Bobby

Joe, Billy, Ariel, Thea,

Aaron, Aric, Alija, Tris-

tan, Landon, Ashton,

Brooklyn, Bentley, Emery

and Carrie; great nieces

and nephews, Carissa, Lo-

gan, Justin, Hailey, Kelan,

Little Bobby, Riley, Bra-

den, Brynley, Aiden, Seth

and Joey.

He was preceded in

death by his parents and

grandparents.
