Kathleen Beckedahl

April 6, 1934 – Oct. 17, 2017

MOHALL – Kathleen L.

Beckedahl, 83, Sisseton,

S.D., formerly of Mohall,

passed away on Tuesday,

Oct. 17, 2017, at Sanford

Heart Hospital in Sioux

Falls, S.D.

Kathleen was born in

Mohall on April 6, 1934,

to Thomas and Lillian

(Forschen) Arneson. She

attended Mohall Public

school and remained in

the area for most of her

life. She lived on the fam-

ily farm where she en-

joyed making homemade

goods, crocheting, can-

ning and enjoying family

and friends visiting. After

becoming ill in 2011, she

moved to Wahpeton and

eventually resided at the

Edgewood Assisted living

in Sisseton, S.D.

Kathleen lived a great

life in those 83 years. She

was a tell-it-like-it-is,

pull-up-your-bootstraps

and get-it-done type of

gal. She was always look-

ing for a good cup of cof-

fee any time of day and

would talk your ear off if

you were there visiting

whether it was the weath-

er, family, or just some

good ol’ porch gossip.

Through the years she

was an avid crafter enjoy-

ing her crocheting, knit-

ting, quilting, and sewing.

She loved to be sitting

outside in the sun watch-

ing the birds and any oth-

er critter that came her

way. There was always a

puzzle on the table; if you

came to visit it was your

job to help her with a few

pieces before you left.

Kathleen spent a lot of

time at Clear Lake in

South Dakota and enjoyed

the pontoon rides,

four-wheeling, planting

the garden each year,

campfires, smore’s, as

well as the family’s yearly

fireworks display. During

her time at Edgewood, she

made some great new

friends with both the staff

and residents and stayed

active in bowling, bingo,

church, and especially en-

joyed the music there.

Kathleen’s family was

always growing. She was

blessed with four sons,

three daughters,

numerous grandchildren,

spouses, and

great-grandchildren. She

will be missed terribly by

all!!!
