Betty Lindseth

Betty Lindseth, 85, Vel-

va, ND, passed away Sun-

day, September 17, 2017,

in a Minot hospital.

Betty Marie Hystad was

born November 20, 1931,

the daughter of Fred and

Caroline (Thompson) Hys-

tad, on the family farm in

McHenry County, ND.

She was raised and edu-

cated in Velva and gra-

duated from Velva Public

High School.

Following high school,

Betty received her teach-

ing certificate from Minot

State Teachers College.

She then went on to teach

school in Crosby, ND,

where she met Elling

Lindseth. The couple

were married on June 21,

1953 in Velva, ND, where

they continued to make

their home.

Elling passed away Oc-

tober 25, 1987.

Betty was a member of

the Velva Chamber of

Commerce, the American

Legion Auxiliary and a

lifelong member of Oak

Valley Lutheran Church

of Velva.

She spent the majority

of her life active in the

Velva Community, where

she and Elling lived and

ran the KO-Z Motel for 30

Tomas Lindseth;

grandchildren, Mikel

Reishus (Connie Adam),

Chad Reishus, Nicole

(Mike) Perrault and Annie

Lindseth; and

great-grandchildren, Cas-

sie Reishus, Allison

Reishus, Emma Perrault

and Noah Perrault.

Betty was preceded in

death by her parents; hus-

band, Elling Lindseth; and

her brothers, Melvin, Bri-

an and Clifford Hystad.

Memorial Service:

Wednesday, September

20, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at

Oak Valley Lutheran-

Church, Velva, ND.

Visitation: There will be

no reviewal, but friends

are invited to sign the

guestbook an hour before

the service.

Interment: A private

family committal will take

place at a later date.

Memorials: are pre-

ferred to the Velva Ameri-

can Legion Post #39, Vel-

va Fire Department and

Rescue and the Velva Am-

bulance Service.
