Kathy L. (Fladeland)
Wick, 68, of Aurora, CO
passed peacefully at her
home on Saturday, Au-
gust 26, 2017 after a long
struggle with cancer.
Kathy was born on Sep-
tember 24, 1948 to Arne
and Helen Fladeland in
Stanley,ND.
She is survived by her
loving husband Richard
W. Wick of 49 years. Her
daughters, Ronda (Kelly)
Weaver of Aurora, CO,
Robin (Tim) Roets of
Lindsborg, KS, and Mistel
(Jesse) Martinez of Little-
ton, CO. Her five beautiful
granddaughter’s, Morgan
Roets, Emily Roets, Elise
Weaver, Alexa Weaver,
and Madison Martinez.
Her five siblings, Lonnie
(Pam) Fladeland of White
Earth,ND, Candice (Gary)
Ruden of Stanley, ND,
Penny (Mark) Uran of
Stanley, ND, Donnie (Jill)
Fladeland of New Town,
ND, and Scott (Debbie)
Fladeland of Ross, ND
and all of their children,
spouses, and grandchil-
dren. She is also survived
by her uncle Robert (Joan)
Fladeland of Stanley, ND,
uncle Jack (Aneda) Flade-
land of New Town, ND,
aunt Betty (Lonnie) Olson
of Des Lacs, ND, and aunt
Sylvia Fladeland of Ross,
ND and many cousins.
Kathy is preceded in
death by her loving
parents, Arne and Helen
Fladeland.
Kathy was a bright light
to all who knew and met
her. She could tell a fun-
ny story better than any-
one. She was always kind
and generous to her chil-
dren and grandchildren,
and anyone she thought
was in need.Kathy was
raised on a farm and grew
up attending country
schools though the eighth
grade. She graduated from
Stanley High School in
1966, and then attended
and graduated from the
Professional Business In-
stitute in Minneapolis,
MN in 1967. She and
Richard (Dick) were mar-
ried on June 22, 1968 in
Ross, ND. Kathy stayed
home working to raise her
family until 1986 when
she began working for the
Cherry Creek School Dis-
trict. She worked for 23
years as administrative
secretaries for various
departments at different
schools until her retire-
ment from Grandview
High School in 2009. She
was an active member of
Bethel Lutheran Church
in Aurora, CO. Kathy’s
greatest passion was her
family, and she loved be-
ing an awesome
“Grammie” to her beauti-
ful granddaughters.
