Irma Christine Robinson

July 27, 1926-July 12, 2017

Irma Christine Robin-

son, age 90, of Hastings,

passed away peacefully

surrounded by her loving

family on July 12, 2017, at

Regina Senior Living in

Hastings, following an ex-

tended illness.

Irma Christine Robin-

son, the daughter of An-

ton and Christine (Bren-

neise) Johnson, was born

on July 27, 1926, in

Underwood, North Dako-

ta. The daughter of a ND

pioneer, Irma’s life began

on a farm just outside of

Underwood, ND.

Irma’s first educational

years were spent in a one

room school house, which

provided for many fond

memories. Following her

high school graduation

from Underwood, ND,

Irma went on to continue

her education at James-

town College, in James-

town, ND. Irma’s dream

was to become a nurse.

So…on to Northwestern

Hospital School of Nurs-

ing in Minneapolis, she

went. Irma attained her

RN nursing degree.

Irma was united in mar-

riage to Albert Robinson

on August 8th, 1948, at

Underwood, ND. They

were blessed with three

The family would find

themselves moving in the

midwest several times

over the course of their

lives. Irma truly believed

that the Lord had given

her, her musical talent,

playing the piano. Be-

cause of this, she was al-

ways involved in the life

of the church. She said,

“Everywhere we moved,

the first question the pas-

tor asked was if I knew

anyone who could play

the piano, to which I gave

a resounding, YES, ME!!!”

While living in North

Dakota, Irma and Albert

were actively involved at

First Baptist Church of

Minot. Irma’s involvement

in First Baptist was:

deaconess, church pianist,

bible studies, and decorat-ing for the many church

activities. She was also a

charter member of XYZ, a

senior adult ministry to

the town of Minot.

Upon relocating to

Hastings, MN, in her early

80’s she moved into Park

Ridge, where she contin-

ued serving others. Irma

loved to decorate the din-

ing room for every holi-

day. She was an active

resident on several com-

mittees. While in Hastings

she was an active partici-

pant of Calvary Christian

Church. Irma enjoyed

several years of good

memories and great

friends in Hastings, MN.

Following a stroke,

Irma’s last home was Re-

gina Care Center in Hast-

ings, MN. Even at Regina,

you could often see,

Irma’s wheelchair rolling

down the hallways asking

other residents how they

were doing and what she

could do to help them.

Throughout her life,

Irma’s faith in the Lord

saw her through the good

and the hard times. One

only had to look in her Bi-

ble, to see the many

verses she had underlined

with marginal notes to

know that she spent time

in the Word. Being a

prayer warrior, Irma often

listed friends and families’

names and their individu-al needs. Praying to her

was just, “I’m talking to

Jesus.” She modeled a life

of faith –

“Well done, good and

faithful servant.”

She was preceded in

death by her parents; her

husband, Albert and by

her sister, Luella Snyder.

Irma is survived by her

loving children, Daughter:

Lou Ann Sackett of Hollis-ter, CA; her sons and

daughters-in-law, Bill

(Doris) Robinson of

Gardner, KS, Richard

(Georgine) Robinson of

Hastings, MN; her

grandchildren and

spouses, Renelle (Kip)

Marsh, Chrisan Robinson

(Franco Sanguenetti),

Randine (Tray) Ailshie,

Nathan (Abby) Robinson,

Christine (Jared) Sachs,

Michelle Robinson; her

great-grandchildren, Liam

and Gwenna Marsh; Reid

and Weston Robinson;

Gerald, Will, Clara, and

Louise Sachs; and by

several nieces, nephews,
