Wednesday, June 14, 2017

surrounded by his chil-

dren, at Sheyenne Cross-

ings Care Center in West

Fargo.

William Patrick Curry

was born July 15, 1926 at

Clinton, IA to William

and Dora (Gehrman) Cur-

ry. He grew up and at-

tended school in Slayton,

MN. Bill enlisted in the

US Navy and served dur-

ing World War II on the

USS Neshoba. After the

war, he reenlisted and

served on a Mobile Com-

munication Unit on

Guam. He was honorably

discharged in 1947. Upon

discharge, he returned to

Slayton where he operat-

ed Curry Brothers Radio

with his brother, Richard.

He also painted houses for

a time. In 1951, he moved

to Traverse City, MI

where he met his wife and

worked for the federal

government at the then

Civil Aeronautics Ad-

ministration now known

as the FAA, as an air traff-

ic controller. William

married Jeanne Huellman-tel on March 14, 1952 in

Toledo, Ohio. While em-

ployed by the FAA they

made their home in many

places including; Toledo,

OH, Rochester, MN, Far-

go, ND, McGrath, AK,

Northway, AK, Ottumwa,

IA, and Minot, ND. Fol-

lowing Bill’s retirement

from the FAA, they con-

tinued to reside in Minot.

Jeanne passed away in

2009. Bill moved to West

Fargo in 2011.

Bill’s passion was fish-

ing. He was also a Ham

Radio operator and en-

joyed making wine.

He is survived by three

children, Jerry (Edith)

Curry, Fairbanks, AK,

Tom Curry, Fargo and Pat

Eckroth, West Fargo; 9

grandchildren, Jennifer,

Bryan, Brenda, Breanna,

Brandon, Jessica, Robert,

Kari and Edward as well

as 13 great grandchildren;

1 great great grandchild

and brother, Richard Cur-

ry of Rosemount, MN.

Bill was preceded in

death by his parents and

wife, Jeanne of 57 years.

A private family ser-

vice will be held with

burial at the ND Veterans

Cemetery, Mandan, ND.

The family asks that any

memorials be made to

Hospice of the Red River

Valley in Fargo, ND.
